Lyra looked out into the early grey dawn and sighed. A hand lightly traced down her bareback and she looked back to the red-headed boy in the bed next to her.
He smiled up at her his eyes still full of sleep and content.

"I woke you, I'm sorry." She said reaching down and sweeping his hair out of his face.

George reached for her hand and laced it with his. Brushing his warm lips gently against her skin. "Your sighing again. What's got the prettiest girl in Diagon so down?"

Lyra's lips turned up into Georges's favorite amused smile and he had to fight the urge to tackle her, but she looked back to the window and he felt her mood dip just the slightest bit again. "It looks like it's going to be another foggy day."

"Well love, we do live in London."

She shook her head. "I know but it's different."

"What do you mean?"

She sighed, shifting from her sitting position and crawling over him before flopping on top of him. Her bare body was cold on his warm chest. She nuzzled her face into him, and despite having been with Lyra for well over a year, and sleeping next to her for months. George felt his cheeks heat, and he took a moment to compose himself before wrapping his arms around her.

"I don't know how to put it into words exactly." She said into his chest. "it's just heavier. Like the fog itself has emotion... Is that crazy?"

"Absolutely nutty," George said without hesitation and then laughed as she propped herself up to glare at him. "But who knows? Maybe it does."

"No," she sighed again, "I probably just miss the sun so much I'm projecting my mood onto the weather."

He chuckled, "well regardless I love you either way. Tell you what, next sunny day we'll take off okay?"

She trailed light kisses over his freckled skin. "Okay." And then as a second thought, "the fog really doesn't bother you?"

"To be honest, I don't really think about it or notice. Bit hard to get me down when I get to wake up next to you every day."

Her cheeks flushed that rosy pink he loved so much but her eyes looked severe. "If I didn't know any better Weasley, I'd say you were trying to butter me up."

"Maybe I just like watching you blush."

She sat up more shifting her weight onto her legs to avoid hurting him. "Mmmm no your definitely hiding something."

He grinned up at her. "Are you trying to poke around my mind Stone?"

"No." She lied badly. George smirked up at her several dirty images coming to mind and watched her face go from dusty rose to scarlet.

He barked out a laugh as she tried to scramble off of him. Gently placing his hands on her legs and holding her in place. "I'm only teasing Lyra."

"You're trying to distract me." She accused.

"Okay, that too." He admitted, "but only because I didn't want to worry you."

He felt her soften, lightly tracing her fingers along his chest. "Tell me, my love."

His stomach did a flip and he had to fight those thoughts back again. "God I love you."

"George, focus." She laughed, "or I'll be forced to get dressed."

"Sorry, sorry. It's just we got word from Bill last night that we're expected at the order meeting tonight."

"And you thought I'd be worried about going?"
