WHEN Beomgyu spotted the sign of the harbour, he felt as if the heavens were favouring him for the first time. Byeol's face looked no better than a blobfish. She seemed to have turned ten years older within a few hours. Her pale face was like the white satin sheets of his bed back in 2020. He knew it better than everyone else that all these sudden things were enervating her.

"Let's slow down. We are already here and no one's following us for now." said Beomgyu trying his best to not tire her more. He would be in real mess if she knocked out at the wrong time. Byeol nodded weakly as she loosened her grip around Beomgyu's wrist a little.

A corvette was the closest vessel they could spot.

"Gyu... I feel really..." mumbled Byeol as her drooping eyes met the anxious pair of Beomgyu's.

"Oh my god... Byeol!" gasped the boy as he caught his partner in his arms who lost her balance after barely two seconds.

Sighing at how things were turning out, he had no choice but to pick the passed out body of the frail , malnourished girl in bridal style. He winced in pain as he felt her weight. He was no better than her. He probably was underweight. He carefully got up into the corvette and placed Byeol on the wooden floor.

He picked up a rusty mug which was lying near to them and got down again to bring some water. The real issue now was how to get some food and water.  There were several corvettes lined up. They were staying in the nearest.

He scurried towards his friend's direction as soon as he managed to clean the mug and fill it upto its brim. He hoped that Byeol would be alright again.

When the cold saline water touched the face of the girl , she stayed motionless. Beomgyu felt his hands and feet go numb as his mind was flogged with different thoughts about the situation that were quite negative. He kept patting her cheeks and begged her to get up.

After a few minutes of desperate tries he gave up. He placed a hand under her nostrils to check. His palm was greeted by warm exhalations.

"Hey! You... You are not dead! Get up now!" he begged at the thought of being left alone. Surprisingly, he didn't want to part with his annoying acquaintance.
