"You are one of my best repair consultants, Lynette... I was even considering on granting you a supervisor position since Vera's transferring to Northgate mall next month..." Janis sighed as she read my resignation letter. "You sure about this?"
"I love working here, believe me... But.... My life is a little complicated to explain.... I need something new.... A fresh start..." I said. "I can't give you all the details, but... I just need to get out of Seattle...."
I decided today to turn in my resignation letter, explaining I'm moving away for "family reasons."
Thankfully, no one here really knows about my personal life in that sense, and they don't even know about Trevor even existing, so they can believe it.
Janis nodded and sighed. "Well, I can give you until tomorrow so you'd already get your last paycheck, if you're okay with that," she said.
I nodded. "That's good with me."
She nodded and folded the letter up before standing up and walking over as we shared a hug.
"It's been great working with you... I wish you the best of luck on this, Lynette," she said. "And if your ever find yourself back in Seattle, just give me a call here."
I nodded. "Thank you again, Janis..."
She smiled as I then stepped out, seeing Tania waiting for me.
"So that's it?" she asked.
"Yeah... I'm out," I smiled.
"I'll be honest, I was expecting Carrie to quit first.... But her reason would probably be to follow a rock band on tour across the country," she giggled as we walked out.
I couldn't help but laugh as then my phone rings, seeing Aldous's name pop up on the caller ID.
"I gotta take this," I said.
She nodded happily and walked over to help out nearby customers ready to pay while I stood at the side.
I answered the phone. "Hey..."
"Hey there. I just got our flight tickets, yours included. We're heading out in 2 days," he explained.
"Sounds great. I just gave my resignation to my job, tomorrow is my last day, and I can be able to pack once I get home tonight, " I smiled.
"Sounds good. Need any help packing?" he asked.
"I uhh, actually don't have a lot, honestly... I can be able to just fit everything in a suitcase and carry on, I'm sure, so I should be fine," I said. "Plus, I'm sure you have your own preparations to handle with your brothers."
"Well, true, but if you insist," he said.
"I promise, I'll call you if anything," I assured him.
"Of course. I was also thinking dinner tonight afterwards?" he asked.
I chuckled. "Another dance, Aldous?" I teased.
"I do recall you asked for lessons," he said, making me laugh.
"Guess I'll have to pick out something nice.... It's a date," I smiled. "I'll let you know once I'm ready."
"Looking forward to it. I'll see you soon," he chuckled sweetly as we hung up.
"Is that the cute guy?" Tania smiled. "Aldous, right?"
