"BOOM!"
I jumped as I heard another cannon tested while sitting in the lounge room.
Is this what war feels like?
I hated it back on Earth, but here it makes me hate it more.... I don't want any of this....
I sighed as I smoothed out the skirt of my dress, then sighed as I tried to read while sitting on the large setee couch.

Remington was out there with Sebastian and the guards testing the ammunition while Larisa and Austin were making rescue plans and trying to figure out where to find the rebellion's hideout.
Its already close to the last days of October apparently, which really surprises me how long I've been here and how fast time goes, despite time moving slow here compared to Earth.
I sighed as I tried to read, but it wasn't helping to distract me from the cannon fire.
"BOOM!"
I jumped at the sound of the cannon, just as Emerson entered the lounge, looking annoyed.
"Damn brutes, not taking into consideration one's beauty rest," Emerson scoffed. "Then they complain why my Shy and I gets all moody...!"
"They wanted to test them, make sure they worked... Cannons are landing in some open field outside of town...." I said. "I don't know why Remington needs to be there....."
"Sebastian wanted him learning the basics of artillery... I can imagine this doesn't comfort you by the looks of your reaction," he frowned softly. "I know back on Earth, war tends to traumatize and eventually affects you humans mentally over there."
"Pretty much for majority, yeah, but I never grew up around that kind of conflict..... Plus, Seattle isn't exactly known for cannon fire," I said. "Its just the loud noises I'm trying to get used to..."
"Apologies... Believe me when I say Sebastian considered a war as last resort, but the rebellion has gone too far endangering everyone..." Emerson explained.
I sighed and nodded.
He then perked up a little bit, clapping his hands together.
"Here, why don't I play us a song?" he smiled, motioning to the piano. "It can help you relax. I was just about to practice a little."
"You play?" I asked curiously.
"Absolutely. Not to brag, but I'm better than my brothers by a longshot," he said with a cheeky grin.
I chuckled softly as he sat at the bench.
"Sure.... Some music might actually calm me down a little..." i said, sitting up a little as I set my book aside.
