Despite his smug, asshole demanor, he actually has ADHD, and a very short attention span. You have to look him in the eyes when speaking to him, otherwise he'll turn his focus to something shiny, bright, or loud. He's a nightmare in class because he watches the teacher's hand moving more than he does what the teacher is saying, kind of like a cat, actually.
