PRE-DEBUT || Part 5

~ October 2005 ~

It could be a normal Saturday evening, if Yong was not let alone with his two kids, while his wife had a Piano Recital that night.

Everything was calm while Sunbin was entertained with her new anniversary present that her grandparent bought from Japan, the new, Nintendo DS. Sunghoon was still napping after lunch, but Yong knew that his peace and quiet would end when he had to wake up Sunghoon.

Lately, both Sunghoon, now almost 3 years old, and Sunbin that had just turned 9 years old, were stressing both him and Hae out of their minds. The only quiet moments in the household was when one of them were sleeping, and even then, they could find ways to annoy one another in their dreams.

When both parents asked the paediatrician about the matter, he said it was normal due to both of their age, and it was just a phase. That did not help much, but both Yong and Hae were hoping that this phase would end. And the meanwhile, both parents had to survive the battlefield and moody children.

When Sunghoon woke up, he joined Yong and Sunbin in the living room, siting right next to Sunbin. Yong was conflicted, if he should let them sit next to each other or not, because they could be shouting at one another one minute and the next one be cuddling and sleeping together.

After them not killing each other for 15 seconds, he decided that it was safe for now to keep them together.

When the battery of the Nintendo died, Sunbin went to charge it and came back with the new CD that Yong had offered her for her birthday.

"Sweetie, we both know that your brother doesn't like that much, keep it for now, and we listen to it later" Yong said while trying to explain the situation, Sunghoon did not share the same love as his sister and father, even if he would listen to it, he did never really showed his love for it.

Since he was still in the stages of waking up to the world after his nap, Sunghoon was not really happy to be forced to wake up to the music, so he decided to do, what everyone does when they are forced to wake up, destroy the source of the sound.

And that was exactly what Sunghoon did, he got up from the sofa that he was sharing with Sun, and with his little hands, he went directly to the cd player, and pulled out the cd that was playing a second ago, before either Sun or Yong could react, he took running to the bathroom and put the cd in the toilet trying to flush it down.

Fortunately, that did not work due to its size, but Yong knew his peace and quiet was definitely over when Sunbin while crying, run up the stair and 30 seconds later came back, hugging Sunghoon's favourite penguin plushie.

"Oh sh---" Yong said while trying to decipher was he should do next, and trying to reason with his oldest daughter was probably, PROBABLY, the best option.

"Sweetie, give me your brother's plushie" Yong said while running after Sunbin trying to take the plushie from her. If it was any other plushie, he could not care less, but that damm penguin plushie was what could make Sunghoon fall asleep every night. He did not want to repeat what happen a few weeks ago when he forgot the plushie at Hae's parents house "The CD is still good, water cannot damage it".

After saying his last words, Sunbin stopped running around and looked at her father while pouting and with her eyes full of tear "Really?"

"Yes, now, can you please give back the penguin so that both of us can sleep tonight?" Yong said while walking slowly to Sunbin. Eventually, Sunbin gave the plushie back to her father but not without using it to clean the floor with it "Let's go get you CD and clean it, and don't try to be mean to your brother, because if was the other way around, I am 100% sure you would do exactly the same Binnie"

Unfortunately, Sunbin knew that her father was correct, she loved too much her sleep, and if someone woke her up, she wouldn't be happy about it.

When both of them came back to the bathroom, Sunghoon was trying to clean up the CD while crying.

"Well it looks like someone regret was they did" Yong said hoping that the drama has passed and now his two kids would try to amend things between themselves.

"I-I'm s-sorry, Noona" Sunghoon said while giving back the CD to his older sister.

"It's okay Hoonie, I'm sorry I had to force you to wake up" Sunbin said while doing an Asian squat and being the same height as her brother to clean up his tears and decided to not mention what almost happened to his favourite plushie.

In the end, Yong was just happy none of his kids dies while on his watch.
