I was running, not sure where but it had to be forward. It had to be away from the Master.
"Gods," I mumbled even though I was nearly out of breath anyway. "Why can't I just learn to avoid trouble?" I took a right around the corner, not bothering to slow down to take the turn so I nearly ran infront of a car. The vehicle honked its horn immediately when I passed by. "Gods, New Yorkers. So quick to honk their horns."
All I wanted to do was celebrate my fourteenth birthday by going into New York City and flying around while wearing the superman suit that I had gotten as a gift earlier that day, but appearantly I had to run away from some man that was trying to force me to be his companion. And I knew that his definiton of "companion" was likely more like "girlfriend".
My feet wobbled beneath my body, my lungs begging for air. I could just jump up into the air and fly off, but exposing myself as someone other than a mortal would be suicide.
Gods, someone help me.
