Chapter 1

Hinata woke up and instantly checked his phone which displayed:
'6:30
Wednesday, August 7th'
"Crap, I am going to be late for practise." He mumbled to himself as he quickly got changed into his school uniform and grabbed his bag before sprinting down the stairs. He stops in the hallway, admiring a photo of his 13 year old self when he had first moved into the household. In this photo, it was before he transitioned from female to male, from 'Emma' to 'Hinata Shoyo'. "It's been 4 years of me living here and I haven't found a single clue of where you could be. I hope I can find you soon Ray..." He thinks to himself. "Shoyo honey, what are you doing? You are going to be late for school." He was brought out of his daydream when his mother placed a hand on his shoulder and spoke, startling him slightly. "Oh yeh School! I am so late. Thanks for that Mom. Bye!" Hinata yelled as put his shoes on and hurried out of the house towards his school.

Hinata barged through the gym doors, surprising the team. He bowed his head slightly and apologised for being late. "Why are you late Hinata? This is the third time in the last 2 weeks." Coach Ukai questioned as he signalled for the team to continue with their duo practice of passing the ball back and forth. "I slept in again. I'm sorry coach and I will try not let it happen again for a forth time!" He yelled his apology, still bowing his head. "You better not let it happen again or there will be trouble ginger, now go get changed into your volleyball uniform. You can practice for 10 minutes because I need to speak to everyone before they go to their lessons." Ukai replies. Hinata nods before running to the club room and getting changed in record time, before running back to the gym. Hinata paired with Kageyama as usual, the duo passing and receiving the ball between each other and talking about their upcoming exams. 10 minutes before practice ended, Coach Ukai told everyone to tidy the gym as he needed to talk to them all before classes.

Once the gym was cleaned, the volleyball team stood in front of the coach as he begun his announcement "Alright so as you know, first years have exams tomorrow and the principle has said they need to pass them otherwise they can not come on future training camps until their grades are up. We do have one this weekend which will take place at Nekoma, everyone will be attending once your permissions slips have been handed in as the exams will not have been graded by then. You will be missing the school day on Friday to travel to Nekoma and staying there for the weekend, coming back Sunday so that you will be able to go to school on the Monday." Hinata jumps up and down in excitement, being able to hang out with his friends from Nekoma once again. Everyone starts to mumble between themselves before Takeda interrupts them while handing out permissions slips "We just need your parents to sign these forms and for you to bring them in tomorrow and hand them to your captain, Daichi. Please do your best to not forget them tomorrow as we need to inform the principle of who is attending the training camp. And just so you know, practice will not be on tonight so the first years can study a bit more for their exams so please make the most of it you guys, you will have practice tomorrow as usual." After receiving their permission slips, the team went to the club room, changed into their uniform and headed to their classes.

After school, the team met at the gym for a quick talk. "We only have tomorrow to practice as a team, so we need to make the most of it but right now I want you first years to actually study for your exams tomorrow and not go crazy practicing volleyball. If you fail these exams then you won't be able to come to future training camps until your grades have improved, so make sure to do your best. The rest of you just relax tonight and make sure everyone is on time for volleyball practice tomorrow." The captain spoke before quickly saying his goodbyes and taking his leave, needing to take care of his siblings for the night. The first years all look over at Tsukishima, which causes him to instantly shake his head and speak "No, I am not helping you guys study again. None of you except Yams can even take in basic knowledge, so figure it out yourselves. Try do something by yourselves at least." He mumbles the last part as he walks out of the gym. Sugawara heard the conversation between the first years and runs up to them, "I could help you guys if you wanted? I have nothing else to do tonight and I don't want you guys to miss out on any training camps." He suggested. "Thank you Sugawara, that would be great." Kageyama replied. "So you guys wanna sit in the club room to study or you guys have another place in mind?" The older asked the 4 first years. "We usually go to my house to study so we don't get bothered by the teachers, my mother is at work and my sister is having a sleepover at her friends tonight as well." Hinata interrupted Suga's train of thought. "Perfect! Lets get going." He clapped his hands together as the five headed out and walked to the Hinata household.
