The time was 10:19pm in Tokyo, two teens sat on a sofa in their living room watching a movie, Kuroo and Kenma. Akira and Olivia (Kenma's parents) came in through the front door, returning home from a stressful day at work. "Kenma, Kuroo, we're home." Olivia shouted as they both took off their shoes and headed to the living room, seeing the two boys sat on the sofa as the rolling credits showed on the TV, indicating the movie was over. "You two boys ok? How was school?" She asked, speaking again. "Yeh." Kenma mumbled. "Yes, thank you." Kuroo replied, looking over to his adoptive parents and smiled. "Any luck finding them today Kuroo?" Akira questioned. "None. Kenma tried helping me by looking at orphanage records for the same time I made it here because I remember our plan was to take all the kids to a good orphanage, but he couldn't find anything. I researched Grace Field and it said that nothing could match the search. Turns out it's really hidden from this part of the world. We have training camp tomorrow till Sunday, so I'll have to pause my search." Kuroo explained. "Why don't you go to the local library to see if you can find any books like the ones you told us about from the orphanage you use to live at? We can go tomorrow, when the coaches let us wonder around for a bit." Kenma suggests. "Yeh that sounds like a great idea, when the coaches let us wonder while they set up everything for the movie we can go to the library! That brilliant, thanks Kenma!" Kuroo explained, seeming very excitable. He took a deep breath calming down and begun speaking once again, sounding more grateful then energetic. "Thank you once again for caring enough to help me with this, I really do appreciate everything you have done for me and still doing for me now, there is no way I can possible repay you." "You don't need to thank us at all! We are glad to help you any way we can and with you here, Kenma is actually doing some sports and getting out of the house, so you're helping us as well." Akira chuckle. "I remember the day we found you in the park near our house, I'm just glad you're safe as well. And your friends will be safe soon." Olivia smiles. Kuroo looks down at the floor, remembering the past.
Flashback
All of the children were sprinting through the forest, Emma and Ray at the back making sure the demon doesn't get any of the younger children, while Gilda and Don were at the front, directing them. "Emma, I'll distract it and get rid of it. We'll meet up ahead inside the cave! Just get away from it and make sure to save the others. If I don't get to the spot by sundown, make sure to get to the human world and I promise to meet you there." Ray shouted and sprinted of to the left with the demon following him, before Emma had time to protest. He kept running until he knew he was far enough away from the other kids, turned and aimed his bow towards the demon, shooting an arrow to its eye and hitting perfectly. As soon as he knew the demon was dead, he looked around trying to figure out his surrounds so he could go back and meet up with Emma, but soon found himself completely lost. "Emma will definitely get to the human world with the kids, I'll just have to meet her there." He thought to himself as he continued his journey alone to the human world,
Days later, Ray had eventually found his way to the human world, he didn't stop for a second for a break while travelling as he wanted to meet up with Emma as soon as possible. Exhausted, hungry and thirsty, he sat on the first bench he saw which was located in a part and eventually passed out. Waking up a couple of hours, to find a person hovering over him, mumble about something. "Are you alright?" The women asked as soon as she saw his eyes open. "Erm yes? Who are you?" He questioned her, cautiously as he sat up and moved away slightly. "My name is Olivia, I saw you asleep on the bench and your face looked very pale. What's your name? Have you got a place to stay? I can offer you some food and a place to sleep if you need it?" Olivia offered, clearly caring for the the boy in front of her. Ray paused for a second, thinking before he replied "My name is Kuroo... And if it isn't to much trouble please..." He says quietly, already feeling bad for lying. He made up the name up the name on the spot as a way to hide his identity, quick thinking. Olivia nodded her head and the two started walking.
After about 5 minutes they arrived, 'Kuroo' met Akira and Kenma, was given warm food and offered a place to sleep, which he graciously accepted. A few weeks had pasted of 'Kuroo' staying over at Olivia's home, he finally trusted them and told them everything about his past. How his real name was Ray, the fact that he wants to hide his identity and that he isn't part of this side of the world. They felt awful for not knowing and offered him a permanent place to stay while he finds hid friends, with an opportunity to go to school and to help him find his friends. He gratefully accepted once again and was delighted that he had a place to stay, a family, while he begun his search for Emma.
End of Flashback
"Kuroo, it's time for bed. We have to get up early to help the coach set up the rooms for Karasuno." Kenma spoke, snapping the other out of his day dream. "Mom and dad have already gone to bed and I cleaned up, we just have to finish packing our bags and then go to bed so come on." He added. Kuroo nodded and the two headed up stairs to their separate bedrooms, finished packing their bags for the weekend, as they were staying at the school with Karasuno, and headed to sleep.
