she stayed quiet
as I began to talk.
the voices
they never leave me alone
they tell me things
things that I didn't think were true
but now I know they are
they tell me to end it
because I'm
ugly
fat
unwanted
unloved
pathetic
dumb
despicable
and before you
I was ready
to end it all
to stop the voices
but you
you stop them without stopping me
you saved me, Emily.
she has tears in her eyes
her beautiful eyes
trace? you aren't ugly
or fat
or unwanted
or unloved
or pathetic
or dumb
or despicable.
that's just what the voices want you to think
they try to torture the people that are strong
in hope to break them down
and make them weak
but you cannot be shaken
we won't be shaken.
the voices will be the ones suffocating if you can believe that
I do
I really do believe
because she does
she believes I can do it
and that is enough for me
to believe too
