"So the hospital was kind enough to cover up the funeral finances." Ruki stated as he walked behind Sakiko, who replayed her grandmother's final words in her head. Kou had interlocked his hand with his other as he placed it behind his neck.
"You know for this loss I thought you would have died." Yuma scoffed
"Crying won't get me anywhere anymore. I need to find her." She chewed on her thumb as Kou took notice in her action and raised an eyebrow.
"I never knew you had a sister." He spoke as he walked next to her to look at her in the corner of his eyes, somewhat afraid to make eye contact.
"Neither did I. But Asuka Kimura has everything. And once I find her she will tell me." Sakiko said in a confident voice.
"Find her?" Ruki asked "you don't know how she looks like. Where are you going to begin?" They soon walked out of the hospital, the night breeze blowing away at her hair pushing it backwards. The moonlit night shone above them, this night was a bit different setting aside the unfortunate loss. But the aroma the night gave felt... different. Was it that she had a goal? Or was it that she had a sister somewhere under the same beautiful night sky. Hiding waiting to be found?
"In any case, my grandmother told me were to go. She told me to go to her house, and on top of her bedroom closet there are pictures from approximately eleven-years. Well for me that is." Of course she was five at that time. But what came before them the danger that awaited them, if it was not for Asuka then Sakiko herself would not have been alive this very moment. They strolled past the emergency parking lot as they walked on the side walk. Cars rushing past them, cars stopping at red light. They went down another block until they reached the limo. This was the populated area of Hokkaido, back when Sakiko was a child she sometimes came here. Although not for a visit but for her grandmother. She would be ill and unable to move. They were considered regular patients and the hospital had always made sure to keep a room available for them. One day when Sakiko was 13 she received a call from the hospital who contacted the middle school. They informed her that her grandmother was ill and Sakiko was not surprised. In fact she didn't want to seem heartless but due to the many calls Sakiko knew a day like this would come. Where she wouldn't have to visit the hospital anymore, were everything finished. Were no more hospital phone calls came in? She was like counting down the days her grandmother would die. And unfortunately that was the true reality. The awful reality. The limo began to drive towards the small village Sakiko once called home. The ride was silent and of course Ruki would magically pop open a book and stick his nose in it. While Yuma would look out the window with a angered expression and Azusa always adoring his scars as he trailed his fingers down them. But Kou kept staring, he kept on staring at Sakiko as his eye glowed red. Of course she was sitting in between Ruki and Kou but having him trying to read her was awfully... rude? He could ask her, why she hadn't given the reaction he thought she would give. Crying in to his arms as she sobbed. None of that happened, now she seems determined to find her sister. Clues that lead up to her. One filled with answers. The limo halted to a stop as the door was opened by the chauffeur, they filed out as Ruki told him to wait for their arrival. Sakiko led the way. This was Kou is first time seeing such place.
"Sakiko you lived here?" He asked as his eyes wandered to brightly lit up areas, a group of three children ran past them laughing and giggling as they chased circular object that seemed to be a old tire. Sakiko went up the stairs as she opened the door. She expected it to be locked but was proven wrong by the results. The house seems so empty without life. She walked upstairs as the brothers followed her. The door to her grandmother's room was wide open as her bed sheets were tossed on the floor and the closet door open wide. In front of it was small black stool chair. Sakiko took a deep breath as she went and took a step on it she grabbed the box that was labeled
'Pictures'. It was in a brown box that seemed older than it should look.
After she took it and stepped down she placed the box on the mattress. And took off the lid. Her eyelids shooting wide open as Yuma let out a whistle.
"You know what your sister may look like a hot chick now. Ill help you find her." Sakiko brushed off his comment. She grabbed the picture as she examined it. Her sister held a green hose as it was shooting water out and Sakiko was having a big smile on her face as she ran on the puddles that were created.
"She... She is beautiful." She whispered. Her sister had a long light blue beautiful hair stopping around her mid-thighs. Wearing a white tank top and black shorts. Her eyes were the opposite of Sakiko's hers were light blue and much more bright as hers were a very dark blue. Even if the picture showed she was 7 she still looked stunningly beautiful.
"Wow you look super cute in that photo." Kou cooed as he stepped next her. "If only you can smile like that again." He added. Underneath the picture still laid the box, the second picture showed her sister wearing a bright green hat with a rose on the side, in the back ground were sunflowers wildly being blown as her little dress flew to one side.
"What's that?" Asked Yuma as he pointed inside the box. Sakiko snapped out of her trail of thoughts.
"What's what?" She asked as she followed Yuma's finger. A bright blue envelope sat still, closed and ready to be opened. Sakiko grabbed the envelope as she flip it over and on the front in cursive font said:
"To S.K"
"Aren't they your initials?" Yuma asked as he peered over her shoulder. She nodded her head in reply. She opened the envelope as she dropped the ripped portion of it and soon the entire thing itself as she grabbed a paper inside it. On the front of the white paper in black bold font this time said
" From:A.K
To:S.K"She took a deep breath before looking to Ruki and kou on the right and to which they gave her nod and to Yuma and Azusa who also nodded.
Inside had the most beautiful hand writing she had ever seen, but what was written in it was the silliest thing ever.
"SURPRISE! You have sister!! You reading this sounds like a man who found out he impregnated his wife. Like he had wife? And your here like wait I had a sister? Well anyway Sakiko, this is just the beginning first clue. But of course it is rather unfortunate that I was not able to see you for mostly half my life and yours, throughout your journey into finding me you will encounter many things. Like stuff, how would I know right? Because I'm not finding me. We're going to reunite as one, well actually maybe not because I want to be my own person. Anyway let's cut off the fluff, you're first thing or second clue in one go to your old home. The one before you moved with grandmother. In other words the one were mother, father and both our brothers were slaughtered right in front of you...Right? It should be simple, that place hasnt changed and they still have the 'ni crossing' sign after so many years. Anyway for the other clue your going to have to look around yourself, maybe see what you can find. Thats all I can give you!"
Sakiko looked at Kou and then at Yuma and then Ruki and to Azusa in disbelief... her mouth opened wide trying to find words as Azusa spoke up for her
"How did... she know that...we were looking for her?"
