It was hard pretending like the whole world wasn't talking about her when it was. And it was even harder staying away from her phone and the television like she had said she would.
It had been a few days since news broke out about her past being revealed and three days since she and Asher had gone on a little getaway to clear her mind off of things.
It was difficult trying not to look down at her phone every 5 minutes— Asher even had to resort to confiscating her phone at certain parts of the day.
Yes, it was getting that bad.
But, hey, at least she wasn't trending number one on Twitter anymore— sure, she was still trending a couple of spots below, but the news seemed to be slowly dying down. It was finally being taken over by more interesting news, like some national hockey playoff game, inspirational quotes of the day, and even a selfie from one of the members from BTS.
Not that she was complaining— those men were fine. Even Asher had begrudgingly agreed before taking her phone in hopes that she would stop ogling at those Korean men.
Despite that, she tended to gravitate towards the television. Even now, her eyes remained glued to the large flatscreen as she watched Elle's arrival at a fashion event that Alana was originally scheduled to attend. The scene quickly switched to the interview portion, knowing that Elle wouldn't enjoy this part of the day. She could see Elle's eyes flash with annoyance as a dozen microphones were practically shoved in her face.
"We'll take only a few questions," Elle's manager announced, and immediately reporters began shouting their questions at the irritated woman.
"Are you working on anything new in the studio?"
"I am and hopefully the album will be out by the end of the year," Elle kept her answers short, simple, and most importantly, direct.
"Can you tell us about your relationship with Brandon?"
Elle's eyes narrowed at the reporter who asked that question, making him cower back under her scrutinizing stare. "My private life and my relationship with those around me is none of your business. Next question."
"The whole world has been talking about Alana Sommers the past couple of days. What can you tell us about the situation? And rumor has it that she or someone on her team leaked the information to get more ticket sales for her upcoming concert. Is that true?"
Cameras continued to flash as the microphones got closer to her, wanting to hear the answer to the question that they all wanted to ask.
Elle scoffed, the polite smile on her face that she had on for the public was immediately gone. She wasn't about to hold back— even her manager kept her mouth shut, knowing that she wouldn't be able to contain Elle's anger and wrath.
"What's my name?" She asked with no emotion in her voice.
"M-me?" Stammered the reporter, the same one who had proposed the question. Elle remained quiet. "Elle Brooks."
"Then, why am I getting questions about Alana, when you're interviewing me?" She asked, looking the reporter dead in the eye. "First of all, that's none of your god damn business. Just like all the celebrities here tonight, their private lives, their past, their present, is none of your concern. You all have no fucking right to go snooping around and spreading rumors, especially when you don't even have all the facts right."
She continued, glaring at the reporters and interviewers who had taken a step back at her bluntness. They were now getting the idea that they weren't going to get the answer that they wanted, rather an angry Elle was now on a rampage.
