"And did you see Alana Sommers' dress last night at the Vincent Mortiz show? She looked absolutely gorgeous!"
Asher Pierce normally didn't care too much about celebrity gossip. But as the camera zoomed onto Alana's smiling face before panning down to her outfit and zooming out to get a look at her overall look, his eyes remained glued onto the screen.
She continued to smile radiantly at the flashing cameras, knowing exactly where to look and how to pose. Asher couldn't help but think that she was a complete natural.
"She did look amazing in that pink Vincent Mortiz dress. But let's be real, she looks stunning in anything really."
Well, he definitely couldn't disagree with that. Alana Sommers could be wearing a trash bag and he would still think she looked beautiful.
"I really can't disagree, Misty. She was glowing and absolutely radiant last night— although, I can't help but think that maybe it's because of a certain someone in her life."
"I'm sure our viewers all know about the rumors between Cameron Holder and Alana Sommers. Our very own Melissa Dalton was on the red carpet last night, and well, take a look at what Alana had to say."
Asher felt his jaw clench as the video shifted to a video of Alana listening carefully to what the reporter was asking her.
"Speaking of friends— you were seen leaving The Palm with Cameron Holder. What's going on between the two of you?"
He watched the television with an intense glare, eyes never once leaving the screen. His gaze softened when he watched her laugh with amusement. God, how he would love to see that beautiful smile in person.
"You see— I knew this question was going to come up. I thought you were better than this Melissa."
Asher was still feeling a bit tense, waiting for her answer. He couldn't help but hope nothing was going on between them.
"I'm just asking what everyone wants to know," the reporter added.
"All jokes aside, we were just grabbing a bite together. Cameron is one of my closest friends and he knows I'll always have his back."
He let out a sigh of relief as the screen shifted back to the two women talking in the studio.
"Well, there you have it. The two singers claim they are just friends, but are they really 'just friends'? Tweet us now to tell us what you think about Calana."
Asher scoffed and turned off the TV. His jaw was clenched tight as he continued to glare at the now black screen.
Calana? Fucking ridiculous.
He didn't even know why he was feeling so angry. He had no right. But he couldn't help himself, because, in his heart, there was only her.
Even if she didn't know it.
It had been 6 years since he last saw her in person and he knew she probably still hated him. After all, it was because of him and his idiotic teenage self that she left in the first place.
And he did have to admit that it had hurt when she left without saying anything— without saying goodbye. He wasn't exactly sure what happened, but he knew he had fucked up badly when even Marianne refused to talk to him the days after Alana disappeared.
Even after he got his little sister to stop ignoring him, she still refused to tell him where Alana went or why she left in the first place. All he knew was that it had something to do with Tiffany Burke, whom he immediately stopped associating himself with.
