It's such a shame for us to part, nobody said it was easy, no one ever said it would be this hard.
Oh, take me back to the start.
The Scientist, Coldplay
The quinjet rumbles as we steadily make our way towards Helen Cho's lab. My thoughts race at the thought of seeing my siblings again, and whether or not they would be against us or with us. My fingers run along my thighs, a tick I've had ever since Hydra. When I would be tied down but had energy thrumming through my veins that the only way I could waste it was buy tapping my fingers along my thighs. So caught up in my thoughts, I hadn't noticed Steve sit down beside me.
"Hey Kid." He says, attempting to capture my attention. I look over and immediately notice my Katana resting in his hands.
"Hey Steve, why do you have my Katana in your hands?" I ask skeptically, continuously glancing from the sword to his eyes.
"I wanted to give this back to you. It was Stark's idea to take it away, we didn't know you, ad we didn't give you the opportunity to gain our trust. I want you to take this with you today and if the time comes when you need to use it. Don't hesitate." He explains, and offers the sword to me, which I graciously receive. We fall into an easy silence, with only the hum of the quinjet as a distraction from the bundle of nerves growing in my chest.
"Nearly there, Cap." Clint says from the front of the quinjet. Steve gets to his feet and prepares himself. We slow our speed as we come up to a building.
"See you guys on the other side." Steve says before opening the door and jumping down onto the building. Clint quickly changes direction and Nat turns to me.
"Here you are." She says as she hands me one of their ear-pieces. I take it from her and put it in my ear. I'm greeted by Steve's voice not even five seconds later.
"Two minutes. Stay close." He instructs us. I nod my head, then my face flushes with embarrassment, realising he wasn't there to see me nod. Nat smirks at me before shaking her head, I just roll my eyes at the Widow's response. We continue floating over the city as Steve makes his way through the building. I look around the quinjet and notice two motorbikes silently waiting to one side.
"You know how to ride one of those right?" Nat starts behind me. I quickly bob my head, remembering the mischief I would get up to with Pietro, where he would run and I would ride. "Good. Because this would've been a lot more difficult if you were piggy back riding with me." She laughs out tightening her gloves in preparation.
"Did you guys copy that?" Steve asks through the comms. I shake my head, but it seems I didn't need to pay attention as Nat mouths Ultron's on the move.
"We did." Clint states, before quickly glancing back to me. "Well, Nat and I did, can't say the same about the kid." He blabbers, making me frown. Nat moves across to one of the computer screens, quickly searching the nearby airstrips.
