Girlfriend happened to look at the calendar while cleaning. She noticed the date.
"Oh, Boyfriend! Tomorrow is--" She began.
"Yeah. My birthday." Boyfriend said.
"Why didn't you tell me?" Girlfriend asked him.
"I don't want to go all out. Maybe just go out to dinner, but that's it." Boyfriend said.
"Okay." Girlfriend said.
The next morning, Girlfriend called everyone to the apartment.
"He said he didn't want to go all out?" Whitty asked.
"Yep." Girlfriend answered.
"... But, you called us here because you want us to help you throw a party for him anyway?" Carol asked.
"Correct!" Girlfriend replied. Carol sighed and then smiled.
"You're always so frantic when it comes to Boyfriend." She said.
"Yeah. I'm grateful you could all come." Girlfriend said, looking around the room. The happy look on her face ceased to exist when she spotted Sky. "I didn't call for you!" She hissed.
"Carol invited me." Sky replied.
"Carol!" Girlfriend whined.
"I felt bad leaving her out." Carol said.
"Whatever. I called you guys here because I didn't really know what kind of party Boyfriend would like." Girlfriend said. "Do you guys have any ideas?" She asked.
"We gather servants from our world and force them to obey him for a day." Whitty said.
"I like that idea, but I don't think a guy like Boyfriend would." Girlfriend replied.
"I don't have ideas for a party, but as a gift, I could give Boyfriend some magical powers so that he can do what he wants for the rest of the week!" Carol suggested.
"I don't think he'd like that kind of thing either." Girlfriend replied.
"How about an underworld themed birthday party? Boyfriend can play as the devil, and we can bring in humans that he can torture!" Cassandra said.
"1. That sounds like a darker and more sinister version of Whitty's suggestion. 2. Boyfriend would never be into something like that. Seriously, it would horrify him." Girlfriend replied.
"We could pretend he's the protagonist of a harem anime! Us girls could--" Sky began.
"If you, Carol, or Cassandra even continue to think about something like that, it's curtains." Girlfriend interrupted her. She then put her hand on her chin in thought.
"Hmm... None of your ideas work out. What'll we do?" She asked.
"Uh..." Pico began. Everyone turned to him. "As someone who has known Boyfriend longer than anyone in this room, I think my idea would be more suitable." He said. Remembering everyone in that room had the ability to kill him, he quickly added, "No offense."
"What's your idea?" Girlfriend asked.
"We buy him a cake, and get him some gifts. It would be like a small party if all of us were simply there to eat and hang out, but I think he'd like that way best." Pico explained.
"As much as I hate to admit it... Boyfriend isn't an outgoing guy. So, I guess we'll go with your idea." Girlfriend said. They all agreed. While Carol was helping Girlfriend prepare for when Boyfriend got home, she noticed how disappointed Girlfriend looked.
"What's the matter?" Carol asked.
"It's just... I wanted to show him how much he means to me. I don't think a basic party could describe my feelings; there's also the fact that I still don't know the kind of human stuff he's into, so I don't know what gift to give him." Girlfriend explained. Carol had an idea.
"I know what you can give him!" She said. She motioned for Girlfriend to lean in and hear what she had to say.
"That's not a bad idea." Girlfriend said after Carol backed away. "I'll try it out."
When Boyfriend got back home, he was surprised, but not upset to see that Girlfriend had thrown a birthday party for him. Boyfriend actually had a lot of fun chatting, fooling around, and playing video games with everyone. (All of them lost against him in Mortal Kombat except for Pico.) After he had opened everyone's gifts and thanked them, Girlfriend decided to give him hers last when they left.
"Thanks for... Well, everything, Girlfriend. This is actually the best mediocre party a basic guy like me could dream of." Boyfriend said. He noticed her serious expression. "Is something wrong?" He asked.
"You... Mean a lot to me, Boyfriend. That's why..." Girlfriend began. She got out a beautiful flower that was glowing. "This is a flower from my world. This kind is a symbol of affection and..." Girlfriend pressed on, her face slowly turning red. "It means I'll offer my everything to you." She said. Boyfriend's face turned red, too.
"Girlfriend... I..." He said. He took the flower. "Thank you." He said. Girlfriend tightly hugged him. He hugged her back and closed his eyes.
