Chapter 25: Oh Swift Heavens...

"What do mean by "starting over?""

Gray glared harshly at the man standing in front of him who was about to kill one of his people. Stark was so stunned at what he's witnessing that he could not move. Izanagi squinted his eyes as he looked closely at Gray, shortly after he smirked.

"Ah, you must be Gray Fullbuster."

"Answer my question you asshole." Gray snapped. "And how do you know my name?"

Suddenly, Gray began to feel some sort of familiarity with this man. He wasn't quite sure but he had a feeling in his gut that there was something about him that was familiar. The ice mage casted the thought aside and threw a kick at the god. Izanagi jumped back a couple feet as Gray moved in front of Stark.

"My my, this is unexpected..." Izanagi commented. "Why on earth are you protecting him? Aren't you aware of what he did?"

"I'm not going to stand here and let you not only kill one of your people, especially when he can barely move. It's not right." Gray remarked.

"Tch." Stark turned his head away and spat on the ground. "I don't want someone like you to take pity on me." He turned his head back at Gray "Know your place human, this has nothing to do with you!"

Gray quickly turned around and gripped Stark's shirt and lifted him up. "I don't care what you think you punk. How about thinking about your future instead of giving up." He then tosses Stark back on the ground. "Besides, I'm going to make you apologize to Wendy once this is all over."

Izanagi gives an amused whistle as he observes the entire thing. "My my, you're quite the aggressive one. So you fully intend to protect him?"

Gray turns and faces Izanagi as he prepares a spell. "Tell me, are you the one they call God here?"

Izanagi places his palm on his chest before announcing with a sinister smile. "The one and only."

"Ice Make: Lancer!" Gray shouts as he unleashes several ice spears straight towards Izanagi. The god side steps out of the way, barely avoiding them.

"You waste no time do you?"

"What the hell did you guys do to Wendy?" Gray seethed, giving an intimidating glare.

Happy, who was carrying Lucy, flew towards the direction they last saw Carla and Chelia went. Which was towards the top floor where Izanagi's room was. However when they made it, they saw that no one was there.

"They're not here..." Lucy commented. "Do you think they left? Maybe they found out Wendy wasn't here."

"Aye..." Happy replied. "And I don't think Rogue is around either."

Suddenly, they both heard some ruckus going on from back where they were.

"Isn't that where Gray went?!"

"Aye!"

"Boreas, the personification of chilling winds." Izanagi chants as a black spiral of winds appears on the back of his hand. "A suiting power for a sky god!" He then unleashes a whirlwind towards Gray's direction.

Gray raises both of his hands and summons a large pink ice shield. The black winds strike it and the ice immediately begins to crack. He leaps in the air before the black winds can consume him and summons an Ice Devil sword.

Izanagi smirks as he coats his leg with black wind. "Trailing Sky Arrow!" He thrusts his leg towards Gray and the ice devil slayer clashes with his blade. He slips off the god's attack and lands behind him as his sword shatters.
