Chapter 31: Regrets and Family

The mission to rescue Wendy Marvell was over. Despite some mishaps, the wizards who set out to save her completed the mission successfully. In the process, the town in the sky was unfortunately destroyed as their ruler, Izanagi, attempted to crush Magnolia with the town. The Fairy Tail wizards were able to deflect the falling debris with one of the great Fairy spells, Fairy Sphere.

After a long fight against the Sky God Izanagi, Natsu was victorious and Hahlos was able to remove Wendy's soul from him. Hahlos took both her soul and Natsu back to the Fairy Tail guild as the fire wizard was exhausted. The tall angel landed and was immediately approached by several of Natsu's friends.

"You did great Natsu!" Lucy beamed as she ran up and hugged him.

"Indeed, well done." Erza nodded.

"You were so cool!" Sting pumped his arms excitingly.

"Heheh. Thanks guys." Natsu said groggily. His body was bent forward, trying to stay up as he was close to passing out.

"Jeez, guess we should get you in the infirmary huh?" Gray rubbed the back of his head. Happy went over to Natsu and picked him up as he slowly flew inside the guild. Many others followed suit.

Once they got inside the infirmary. Carla and Chelia were already in there with the latter already woken up but still appeared very drowsy.

"E-everyone..." Chelia greeted. She then saw Hahlos walk in holding Wendy's soul and realized what it was immediately since her soul has similar aspects of Wendy's appearance. Carla noticed the soul as well and they both looked at each other and smiled brightly.

Hahlos walked over towards Wendy's bed who's was next to Chelia's. He used his free hand to point at Wendy's forehead. "Enchantment: Soul Attachment." A black spiral appeared on the Sky Maiden's forehead. Hahlos then slowly placed her soul on top of her head as it sucked inside. Once Wendy's soul reached her body, the tattoo vanished.

Everyone in the room stared at her in excitement waiting for her to wake up as other Fairy Tail wizards crowded outside of the room seeing if their friend was alright. Seconds pass and she doesn't seem to be waking up, but is clearly breathing slowly.

"...Uh, Wendy?" Natsu tilted his head. "You gonna wake up or not?"

Carla flew over on Wendy's bed and gently shook her. However she still doesn't budge. "C'mon child, you've slept long enough!"

"What gives?" Gray wondered, showing signs of concern.

"Maybe if we yell very loud she'll wake up." Happy suggested. "WWEE-"

Lucy immediately covered Happy's mouth and chided the exceed. "That's not helping!"

"Are you all idiots?" Stark groaned as he stood in front of the room entrance with his arms crossed, somehow passing by the crowd with ease.

"Hey, watch it you." Gray grunted.

"Hahlos, how long ago was her soul extraction exactly?" Stark inquired. Hahlos held his chin for a moment trying to remember when it happened.

"I believe it was, in the very early morning." Hahlos remembered. "It was so dark in that temple it's impossible to tell the time."

"It's pretty close to the evening now." Stark looked at the clock.

"Your point being..." Erza wondered.

Stark held his head in annoyance as he groaned. "What I mean is, that body had no soul for an entire day. Meaning there was no blood flowing, that includes her brain." Stark pointed at his head.

The group immediately showed signs of panic hoping not the worst happened. Stark rolls his eyes. "Relax, she's not gonna die. Her body needs to have the blood flowing again. Think of her body needing a recharge. So she ain't waking up anytime soon. She is in a comatose state however."
