Gaby's POV

When we got home, everyone's excitement had started to wear off. The moment we walked through my front door, everyone complained about being hungry. Em and Karly opted to cook. Olivia said that she could, but was physically pushed out of the kitchen by Karly. We looked at each other and shrugged.

Olivia then suggested that we drag the camp beds down to the living room, so we'd have a bigger space to sleep in. I agreed.

We spent the next 20 minutes arranging the four beds around the living room. We eventually decided on having them in a square shape, everyone could access their beds easily. We were considering changing the layout when we realised that everyone would have trouble seeing the TV, but were distracted by screams and swearing from the kitchen. Olivia and I looked at each other before running to the kitchen.

We laughed at the scene we saw in front of us.

Karly was now holding her wrist under the cold water spurting out of the tap in a powerful blast. A barely baked lasagne lay as a blob of mess on the floor.

Em was backed against the bench in an attempt to get away from the mess. She turned to Karly, who was still running cold water over her wrist.

"What happened? I was cutting up the zucchini and then you screamed. Why is the lasagne on the floor?"

Karly took her wrist from under the running water, winced, and placed it back under.

"I was taking the dish out of the oven when my wrist touched the burning metal. I dropped the lasagne on the floor and now here we are."

Karly looked like she was about to cry, Olivia went over and patted her shoulder awkwardly.

"It's okay, Karly. We'll order pizza."

Em contributed.

"We can drive to Maccas and buy some burgers. I'm really craving greasy food."

Everyone seemed to agree with the idea, so I volunteered to drive. I wanted to talk to Em alone, anyway.

The four of us agreed on getting four cheeseburgers and five serves of french fries. Then, while Olivia and Karly were ordering the pizza, Em and I walked out to the car.

Once inside, I took a deep breath in and out then turned to Em after I started the car.

"Hey Em?"

"Yeah?"

"I want your honest opinion on something."

"Okay, what?"

"I don't want to seem rude..."
