Gaby's POV
I attempted, but didn't manage, to avoid Em for long enough to avoid her interrogation about me and Calum. As soon as she closed the front door, she turned around and started screaming excitedly at me.
"OMH SO WHAT THE FUCK IS WITH YOU AND CALUM? I'M NOT GOING TO LIE TO YOU, I SAW EVERYTHING AND OHMYGAWSH I ALMOST DIED FROM A FANGIRL ATTACK BECAUSE OMG I JUST CAN'T PROCESS THIS! WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED IN THE LAST CHALLENGE?"
Geez. She was scary when she shouted, even if she was shouting happily-ish.
"Um, can we eat first?"
"NOPE! WE CAN MAKE DINNER WHILE YOU SPILL!"
I sighed and followed her to the kitchen. I tried to pick up a pan to help make dinner, but Em slapped my hand away.
"No, you talk, I cook. Sit on the floor."
"Can't I just grab a chair from - "
"No!"
I put my hands up in surrender and sat down on the floor as Em skipped over to one of the cupboards and started pulling out different packets of pasta.
"Come on, Gaby, spill!"
I got myself comfortable on the floor then started talking.
"Um, well... Our third challenge was a treasure hunt around the Museum of Brisbane."
"Oooh! That sounds harder than our last challenge! We had to climb the Story Bridge and - "
"Shh! Do you want me to continue with my point of view or not?"
"Yes. I'll shut up. You continue."
I grinned and leant back against the cabinet behind me before closing my eyes and talking again.
"So, we got there and saw Michael and Karly enter the building, so we ran and caught up with them easily. They started laughing when they saw us, Cal and I wondered why until we remembered that we were still covered in paint from our second challenge."
"As you still are. What was your second challenge? I don't understand."
"We had to be modern art."
I shuddered as I remembered back to the challenge. It was like the tourists were staring right into my soul, I had hated it.
"Modern art? What the fuck?"
"I know right... Anyway, continuing with my story. So, the four of us found the guy with the challenge and our final tokens. He was probably the nicest person we'd had so far. He told us that as pairs we needed to go on treasure hunts around the museum with a clue and find three artifacts. We then had to take a picture with each artifact and whatever tourists were around it. Then we had to find the guy again, but he had to decide whether it was good enough or not. So he gave us our clues and then told us to start. Cal and I opened our clues and decided to figure out what the artifacts were before searching for them. I'll skip over the boring stuff, but we were soon running back to the man with our pictures. We'd spent so much time making sure that the pictures were good. We approached him just as Karly and Michael groaned then went running again in the opposite direction. We ran up to the man and showed him our pictures. He nodded then gave us our final token before telling us that we needed to take a photo with all three tokens at an exhibition of our choice. We just chose the closest one and started setting up the tokens. We wedged Jeremy between us - "
"Wait. Jeremy?"
I shushed her then continued.
"We wedged Jeremy between us, the I held the blue paintbrush and held it near his ear as if I was painting it blue. (His ear was already blue, by the way.) He then held up the scroll ornament that was 'tied' by a blue ribbon. He put the camera on a timer then handed the scroll to me. Before I could ask him why the hell I was holding two tokens, he wrapped his arms around my middle and kissed my cheek as the camera took the photo!"
