Four Girls, One Band (5SOSFanFic)

Chapter 7 - "Calm down, hun."

Olivia's POV

After Em came up with the name, I was quiet for a while. I couldn't believe it! Having a band name now meant that it was official. This was actually happening. There was a chance that we could be backups for 5sos on their tour.  

Gaby noticed that I was quiet and turned to me.

"What's wrong?"

"Oh! Nothing, I was just getting over the fact that this is actually happening! We're an actual band!"

She grinned.

"I know right, I'm still getting over it too!"

I didn't have time to respond because Em killed the engine and parked the car. I looked out the window to see where we were.

RECLUSE'S HAVEN

The sign was huge and colourful. We all turned to Emily.

"So why are we here?"

She smiled.

"To pick our instruments, silly."

The three of us stared at her. I was a bit sarcastic with my comment.

"Yeah, because I walk around with $350 in my wallet."

"It's called a credit card. Anyway, we can get them relatively cheap here."

"How cheap?"

She sighed.

"Stop with the 20 questions! Let's just go inside!"

She grinned at the end, showing us that she wasn't as pissed off as she sounded. The four of us walked up to the door and pushed the door open.

A bell jingled, announcing our arrival.

Karly, Gaby and I stood awkwardly in front of the closed door, but Em stepped forward and yelled out.

"JED! WE'RE HERE!"

Suddenly, a 20-something year old with brown dreadlocks emerged from the back room. He outstretched his arms out to embrace Em. Karly and I shared a confused look. We looked over to Gaby and saw her wearing the same confused expression we were.

Em laughed and let go. She gestured to Jed.

"Guys, this is Jed. I know him via family. He used to date my cousin's cousin's brother, Andrew."

Jed grinned and stuck out his hand.

"Hows it going?"

I could tell straight away that he was gay. I mean, i could tell he was exaggerating with his tone, but just everything about him seemed...gay. Karly and I looked at each other before laughing nervously. Jed shrugged.

"I don't bite."

I shrugged and shook his hand.

"Nice to meet you, Jed."

"Nice to meet you... Wait, what's your name?"

I laughed.

"I'm Olivia, this is Karly and that's Gaby."

He nodded his head.

"Cool. Hey guys."

Em got impatient.

"Okay, this is great and all, but we're here for instruments not an afternoon chat."

Jed turned around and looked like he was going to say something, but Em stopped him.

"I know it's not the afternoon yet. Shut up."  

"Calm down, hun."

Jed started walking over to where guitars and bass guitars lined the walls. After casting a glance behind him, at us, he gestured for us to come over.
