Karly's POV
My phone dinged, waking me from my dream to inform me that I had a message. I picked up the phone angrily and held it above my face as my eyes adjusted to the brightness of the device. i was about to type in my passcode when the phone slipped and attacked my face like a ninja.
I groaned and rubbed the sore spot on my nose. I was now hurt, tired and grumpy. I thought to myself.
This message had better be worth it
I turned onto my side and picked up my phone again. As I did, it started ringing. I answered it before it could wake up my little brother.
Without looking at the caller ID, I screamed into the phone
"WHAT?! YOU'D BETTER HAVE A GOOD REASON FOR WAKING ME UP! I WAS HAVING THE MOST AMAZING DREAM AND - "
I was cut off by the calm voice on the other end.
"Karly, here's a cup of calm the fuck down. Drink up."
"Can't you even say good morning?"
"I tried to, but you screamed at me soooooo..."
I rolled my eyes.
"Why did you wake me, Oli?"
Olivia was excited on the other end of the line.
"I booked the tickets last night. We leave this afternoon!"
My half-asleep brain was still slow from sleep.
"To where? What time is it?"
Olivia sounded hurt that I hadn't remembered.
"Brisbane? Remember? To meet Gaby and Em? And it's 9am."
I jumped out of bed and started pacing my room.
"WHAT?! You booked tickets that quickly? And, why did you wake me up this early? It's like the middle of the night!"
I could sense her smiling on the other end of the line. She ignored my last comment and continued.
"Karly, how many times do I have to tell you that my Mother is a high ranked business woman in a field mainly occupied by men. I've learnt how to assert my dominance and get what I want, when I want."
"Okay, okay, stop bragging."
"Are you out of bed?"
I stared longingly at my warm, open, inviting bed.
"I am now."
"Good. Start packing, I'll be there at 1pm. Our flight leaves at 3:30. Seeya!"
With that, she ended the phone call. Once I threw my phone onto the safety of my bed, I suppressed a squeal and grabbed my purple suitcase from under the bed and placed it open on the floor. I then flung open my wardrobe doors and started throwing clothes into my originally empty suitcase.
I still had to tell my Mum, but that could wait till later.
Olivia's POV
I put my phone down after hanging up on Karly. I looked at my giant, open Audrey Hepburn suitcase. I really didn't feel like packing my suitcase yet. I told myself that I'd pack it after breakfast.
I walked out of my room and into the kitchen, seeing my Mother hitting and swearing at the coffee machine.
"WHY WONT YOU WORK YOU LITTLE BAST- Oh! Hey honey."
I sighed.
"Mum, you've got to pull up the silver thing."
"I did."
