Steve stands on a bridge staring into the distance with his hands in his pant pockets as Sam and Troy walk with each other and over to the super-soldier, consequently interrupting his thoughts that were most likely filled with his childhood best friend, Bucky Barnes.
"He's gonna be there, you know?" Sam introduces himself, making Steve glance over at him and Troy.
"I know." Was Steve's only answer. The previous ordeal and the fact that his childhood best friend is alive are taking over the way he was thinking and what the course of action would be but Troy knew that by leading and doing this mission with Steve, he would be there for him every step of the way, no matter what goes down.
"Look, whoever he used to be, the guy he is now, I don't think he's the kind you save. He's the kind you stop." Sam says but Troy had to disagree as he shook his head, gaining the attention of the two.
"Everyone's worth saving Sam...At least I like to think so." Troy spoke truthfully.
He knew Steve disagreed with him too just by the faraway look in his eyes and potentially killing his best friend because he couldn't help him would shatter Steve.
"He might not give him the choice, T. He doesn't know him," Sam argued but this time Steve spoke up in defence of his best friend and himself.
"He will." Steve said before pausing, "Gear up, it's time." Steve says as he turns and starts walking off back in the direction of where they were hiding.
"You gonna wear that/," Sam asked making Troy snicker before he spoke.
"No. Do you think Steve Rogers, Captain America will go into a war without a uniform? Sammy, you're an imbecile."
" I told you to stop calling me that." Sam groaned, "And what are you going to wear anyway? You don't have your suit."
"Just some cargo pants, a plain t-shirt and a bulletproof vest that Maria had kindly given me."
"You are the most uninteresting person I've ever met," Sam said with a teasing smile, Troy pushed him playfully as they started walking back into the hideout.
"Shut up Birdbrain. Let's get ready."
"aye, aye Captain," Sam said to Troy who smiled.
"I can't hear you." Troy teased.
"Aye, aye Captain!" Sam said louder as they fist bumped.

I know this is short. Bear with me, I'm really busy so I did a short chapter for you all so you at least have something. The next few chapters will be longer than normal so I hope I make up for the short chapter with those.
