Okay, I really don like the more popular headcannon for this ship so here's my take on the pregame characters.
Ouma Kokichi~
Ouma lives with his mom. His dad left when he was six. He doesn't remember him well but what he remembers aren't the most fond of memories. (Fuck dads.) Ouma and his mom do their best to help each other out, both care deeply about each other. Ouma is quiet, but has a large personality. He suffers from depression and anxiety, but is very great at masking it. He hates the idea of people hating him the same way his dad hated him so he tends to people please. The only people who are really mean to him are Momota and Harukawa. Currently only friends with Iruma.
Saihara Shuichi~
Saihara basically lives alone. He's parents work a lot and usually have to go over seas. They make a great amount and regularly gift some to Saihara as either allowance or to keep himself fed. Saihara suffers from a mild form of insomnia. He has a strange infatuation with one of his classmates, but keeps that under control and therefore under wraps. Similarly to Ouma, the only people that really go out of their way to be mean are Momota and Harukawa. Currently only friends with Akamatsu, but that has an extent. (We'll get to that)
