Reconnecting with my family went well. Knowing what we all knew now, I wouldn't change anything that I did then.
It's been about three months. Wilbur and I talk almost daily, Tommy visits a couple of times a month. Techno has been very cold ever since we found each other again, but we still talk every once in a while. I don't know what happened. He was such a softie then, I miss him. Phil and I write letters all the time.
I have also started to live more dangerously. I have gone on day-long expeditions, sailed the ocean near my house, hunted many creatures. The only thing I want to do now is go to the nether. I haven't been in years. I was always terrified.
Today's the day I conquer my fear, I am going on a week-long trip, gathering resources. I want to get blaze rods, quartz, blackstone, netherite, and other fun stuff like wood.
"Be safe! I just got you back, don't go out and die on us." Techno jokes monotonously. All four guys were gathered at the nether portal to send me off.
"Haha, I am on my last life, so I might not be too adventurous on this trip." I laughed lightly, not realizing that I had told them I had lost two lives.
"W-what?" Tommy was the one who spoke first.
"Oh, awkward. I didn't tell you guys?" I chuckled nervously.
"No, what the hell happened?" Wilbur said protectively.
"Well, When I moved to a village a few chunks from the mainland I met this boy," I started. "I thought he was the love of my life. I fell hard. He was a couple years older than me, and I thought we were soulmates."
I could feel the tension and anger radiating off of all of them.
"Well, he got involved in some turf war with some of the other people and I tried to step in. He was going to get killed for god's sake. Well, turns out he was only using me as bait and coverage. He killed me immediately and that's how I lost my first life."
"What did you say his name was?" Wilbur half-joked.
"Yeah, we wanna meet your soulmate." Tommy cracked his knuckles.
"NO. I respect his privacy." I sighed. I knew I was ridiculous for showing any respect to that monster.
"Well, how'd you lose the other life?" Techno spoke.
"I was at some event, I think it was a festival. Karl and Sapnap tried to warn me, but it was too late. A red vine picked me up and was holding me about 75 blocks up. I was trying to fight it but it let go. I wasn't wearing any armor." I laughed a little. "That sounds so lame."
"I'm glad you are still here. I hope it stays that way." Phil looked mad about Lane still.
"Seriously. What's that guy's name!" Tommy shouted, frustrated with me for not telling him.
"I'm not going to tell you."
"Any new boys in your life?" Phil asked seriously.
"Nope." I smiled. "Okay, I'm going into the nether now. Bye, dad! Bye boys!"
A chorus of 'bye' and 'love you' filled my ears as the purple swirls clouded my vision. I made it to the other side slightly nauseous.
"Okay," I muttered under my breath.
I started walking in a direction that no one had gone in (by the looks of it at least) and was leaving a trail of shroom lights I had collected on previous visits. I walked for what felt like days but was only hours before sitting down and starting to barricade myself so I could try to sleep. I curled up with my sleeping bag under me and pillow under my head. I pulled out my communicator and messaged Wil.
