(Shito's Point Of View)

Playing soccer is very tiring, especially when you're the leader. Today is not very special, it's just my birthday. I usually celebrate it alone. And I don't really have any particular reason to give myself a gift.

"Shito!!!" My friend shouted to approach me

"Why?" I replied.

"We will be practicing tomorrow again." He said.

"Ok, I will tell the others" I said to him bluntly.

During recess, our teacher asked me to bring some books to the library and on my way there, I saw Mei performing with Saito on the stage. I began watching them out of curiosity. A lot of people are watching, I can tell that this is a serious event.

Mei was dancing so well but there is something wrong about it. Their dancing speed is increasing, and I can already tell that she is having trouble keeping up with her partner. What is Saito doing? Does he have a grudge against Mei? That is unforgivable. I should ask their teacher to stop the dance this instance.

I was about to go and tell her teacher about it but I saw Mei trying her hardest to keep up with him. I don't want to ruin her efforts so I decided to stay quiet. As I watch them dancing, I could already hear the rhythm of their every step. The silence of the astonished audience is unbearable. And I'm just waiting for them to finish their performance.

Thankfully, Mei was able to successfully finish the dance. I wanted to talk to her, but I need to get these books to the library. I'm starting to feel uncomfortable whenever she is with him. Wait.....Why am I worried about Mei, it's just that, her parents trusted me to take care of her. After school, I waited for her at the entrance.

"Shito!!" she shouted loudly.

"You're late! it's already 5:00, where did you go off to?"

"Sorry.. I was called by sensei." She replied.

"Why? did you do something wrong?" I said to her grinning wickedly.

"No!! I was called there to report my project." she replied with an irritated face.

She looked obviously tired, so I just didn't bother to ask her about their dance.

"Shito!! Where are you?" I heard a familiar voice calling my name, it was Mei.

"What happened? Why do you look like that?" I saw her crying her eyes out and her arms looks so bruised.

"I was bullied by my classmates, I thought that they were my friends..." She continues weeping.

"Where are they?! Those brats will pay for this!"

"No please, I don't want to cause more trouble, and I don't want you to get hurt either."

"Why would I get hurt? I'm strong you know" I smile back at her while flexing my muscles.

"Maybe you're right..." she stops crying and she wipes her tears.

"Now tell me their parents' number, I will let them know about this. Relax...let me handle this."

"Cool!!, Shito you are really my knight in shining armor."

"Of course! If that's what you want to call me hehehe..."

For a moment there, I thought that her eyes were sparkling... But every time she looks so happy, my heart beats faster than before.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After that, their parents became aware of what they did. And Mei was not bullied since then...
But now, she doesn't depend on me anymore. We are slowly being separated by time. As I watch her from afar, maybe she has forgotten even my... Never mind.
"Shito, can you go home before me? I have to buy something." She said as she carried her bag.
I suddenly grabbed her arm without hesitation.
"Can I come with you? I don't have anything else to do."
"No" she replied with a smiling face.
"Why not? You...you're hiding something" I said to her with a taunting smile.
"No...it's just-" I interrupted what she's going to say by tightening my grip on her arm.
"Ok...ok I'll go home without you, but don't get lost" I said as I turned my back to her and leave.
What's wrong with Mei, she should be glad that I can at least show some concern to her.
"That idiot doesn't really care at all." I said to myself as a sighed. I feel sad but I don't know why.
