A date, with me?

A/N: who's ready for a another twist

So it's been 2 weeks. The ugly beast has been sent to Azkaban, Cora is awake and is up to date on everything that has happened. Everything is back to normal and life was good again, except it wasn't. Me and Mattheo haven't been talking, he's been avoiding me for some reason and I don't know why it's been really annoying.

On a better note, me and Cedric diggory have been studying together a lot recently, he's sweet and kind, complete opposite of Mattheo.
(A/N Cedric Doesn't died in goblet of fire btw)
One day when we were studying, just talking about random things and laughing together. Then he just puts this massive question on me

"So Y/N, I've been thinking" he said
"That can't be good can it" I said laughing
"Excuse me. Rude!" He was trying to be serious but couldn't help smile
"Sorry sorry. So what have you been thinking about?" I asked still laughing
He all of a sudden became nervous and then he said it
"Would you go on a date, with me?"

I was so shocked at first, honestly I thought we were just friends. Mattheo was the first thing to come to my mind, what he would say or how he'd feel. That is until I saw him walk in the library laughing with some random Ravenclaw, so that when I knew he wouldn't care.

I must of been thinking for a lot longer then I thought, because Cedric looked like he was getting rather impatient, so I snapped out of my thoughts
"Yes I'll go on a date" I said
He just smiled and I smiled back

When we were finished he walked me back to the Slytherin common room, on the way we come up with a date idea. Where we would go, what we would do and when we would go. I wasn't nervous I didn't really feel anything.
Cedric was gorgeous don't get me wrong and he was smart, funny and very charming. But I don't think I like like him.

When we got by the commons room, we said our goodbyes and I walked in the common room just to see my friends sitting around on the couches.
I walked up past them saying a quick hi, put my things in my dorm and then went back down to join them. Mattheo was there I wasn't expecting back that quick.

We were all talking and laughing, then it got silent. We all went into our own conversation with each other, so now this is when I'm going to tell Pansy and Daphne about my date.
"So I need to tell you both something" I said
"What is it?" Pansy asked
"Yeah what is it, tell all of us" blaise said
"Your the nosiest person I know" I said to him
"It's his best talent. So tell us" Draco said
"Ugh fine. So you know how I've been studying with Cedric a lot" I said. They all nod until Pansy screams

"Oh my god! He asked you on a date" she screamed
"How could you possibly get that from what she just said, let her finish" blaise said, now they all look at me again
"Oh no she's right he did ask me on a date" the boys all gasp but Pansy and Daphne screamed and jumped on me.

"Oh Cedric, he's so fit and charming. Please tell me you said yes" Daphne said
I look over to Mattheo. He didn't have the same expression as the boys, he looked almost hurt.
"Y/N? What did you say" Draco asked
"Oh. I said yes"

Pansy and Daphne screamed and everyone began asking questions, like where is it? When is it? Stuff like that. Mattheo stood up and ran out the common room, I don't know why but I ran after him.

"Mattheo wait!" He ignored me
"Mattheo!" He still ignored me
"Please wait" he finally stopped and started to walk up to me
"Why should I wait? What do you want?" He looked a mix of sad and angry
"I was seeing if you were okay" I said
"Why do you care? Why this year do you all of a sudden care for me?"

"I've always cared about you it's just" he interrupted me
"No you've always hated me. I thought you were actually starting to like me. Like at the party. I helped you, I stayed with you when you were with you sister. I WAS THE ONE WHO ALWAYS CARED NOT YOU" he shouted and I flinched when he lifted his hands up, he calmed down a little.

"Im sorry but I just can't believe I was stupid enough to think you actually liked me, I mean why would you?" He asked
I didn't know what to say
"Mattheo how could you say that. Of course I've cared for you!" I said
"Sure you have" he scoffed

"Just say the word and I'll be yours" I whispered
He just stayed quite "at least Cedric had the guts to ask me out and say he actually liked me. At least he doesn't ignore me for no reason"I said, he looked taken back.
"You don't have to wait anymore. Go with your little Ravenclaw slag. I don't care anymore!"
I just walked away

Mattheo's POV:

She did like me.

Why didn't I say nothing when she said that.
The words repeating and replying in my head over and over and over again
'just say the word and I'll be yours'.
Why didn't I say something, why didn't I just kiss her.

I was still standing there, watching here leave.
When she was out of sight, I let out a scream I was holding in. I punched the closest thing to me which happened to be a wall, I haven't done that in a while. I did not miss it.

So now I've messed things up Y/N, she hates me and my hands is broken. How can my life get any worse.

I wish I didn't avoid her. I don't even know why I was. I'm just stupid. She was making me better, we were becoming better together.
I just can't believe I let her go, when I just got her
