Everyone knows it. Everyone sees it. One glance reveals a dozen peeks, a curious look, a nervous touch. They walk too close to each other for it to be subtle. They talk so often that you can't help but wonder what do they say when they're alone? Sometimes, they steal glances. Longing, loving gazes. When they think no one else is looking, they meet each other's eyes. They smile. When they're together they laugh. When they have nowhere else to go to, no one else to run to, they gravitate to each other .

The class had caught on quickly, perhaps too quickly.

They kept it quiet of course. There would be a time for the teasing, the prodding, and the annoy-ing. Until then they kept it quiet. Why? Because the love birds kept it quiet.

There was someone they didn't want knowing.

But the days passed by. And then the weeks. And everyone watched them so painfully, obviously fall in love with each other. Everything was said in silence. Behind the scenes there were wonders, there were always wonders. Members of the class were too curious for their own good, and too obnoxious to not talk amongst themselves. Things came up, questions were asked, concepts were considered-

When do you think they'll confess ?

How much do you want to bet that Karma caves first?

Do you really think they're in love?

It was the same. Always the same. At some point the class seemed as invested in their relationship as Nagisa and Karma were. It constantly verged on ridiculousness.

Then one day, it finally happened.

It was during a class "field trip." They were out, about, enjoying themselves. Really field trip was codeword for "one of the students had an idea and everyone else just went with it." Otherwise known as: the only kind of bearable field trip they ever got to go on. Teacher organized trips were always... 'Assassination related'.

And so there they were, at the mall, another day out for everyone to enjoy. Nagisa couldn't help but glance over his shoulder every so often (it was a terrible habit at this point) and Karma couldn't help but remain at his side throughout the entire endeavor. The rest of the class dispersed, some genuinely interested in shopping, others simply wanting to give the lovebirds some privacy. They waited. Twiddled their thumbs. Waited. Saw Nagisa and Karma eat lunch together. Waited. Watched them go window shopping. Waited. Wondered and waited and wondered. Some class members had money lying on what happened next, others were just damn nosy. They waited and waited and then...

"Can you take our picture?" Nagisa asked a random passerby as he held out his phone.

"Oh, sure!" the person said, taking the phone and holding it sideways.

Karma wrapped an arm around Nagisa's shoulders, Nagisa throwing up a peace sign. Both of them were practically glowing. It was weird to see Karma mustering even the smallest smile other from his usual mischievous ones . If that was anything it was reassurance that something, something was there. The way they stood beside each other, so comfortable and close, it was a clear sign. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to pick up on this chemistry.

"Ready?" the person asked.

"Ready!"

"Ready."

The camera clicked, there was a flash. Sometime between then and the person trying to hand Nagisa his phone, Karma leaned in and pressed a kiss to Nagisa's lips. It was sudden, unexpected. Nagisa was too stunned to pick up on the hooting and hollering from above them (Rio was very ecstatic as, evidently, she'd just won a bet). They pulled apart and met each other's eyes, Nagisa's wide, Karma looking for an answer.

"Karma -"

"Was that okay?" And Nagisa stared, and then smiled, and then laughed.

"Yes," he said as he pulled Karma into a hug. "It was perfect. Just-perfect."

And it was just perfect.
