Nagisa curled up in the large bed, his eyes closing on their own he listened to the somewhat-soothing droplets of the rain falling on the roof. He felt small, as he laid on the large bed he used to share with Karma.

Nagisa tried his best, convincing himself that Karma was in a better place, where he could finally be at peace. Though no matter how much Nagisa tried, he couldn't hold back the selfish desires that took root in the back of his head.

I wish I wasn't alone.

I wish he was right here, next to me.

Did he really have to leave?

The thoughts clouded his mind, and he didn't bother to drive them away this time. He was tired; tired of trying, tired of working, tired of life.

Karma was gone, and Nagisa didn't want to acknowledge that. But he did.

He was gone, and he wasn't coming back.

Though to himself, Nagisa 'you can do it,' being able to do anything seemed impossible. Not without Karma.

Pushing his thoughts to the side, [ Nagisa was sure they would just come back again ] he shut his eyes, hoping that his dreams would have something better to offer than his current reality.

And his dreams did not disappoint.Nagisa awoke, or thought he had, but when he looked forward to see Karma standing there, it assured him that he was indeed not in reality.

Though he knew it was only a dream, he couldn't stop the hope and euphoria that bubbled up from his mind.

He walked towards him slowly and carefully, afraid that one wrong step would cause Karma to vanish.

When Nagisa approached Karma, the latter seemed not to move away, much less attempt to. He simply started at Nagisa, his eyes softened with a subtle adoration.

Nagisa's eyes grew glossy with a buildup of tears, and soon, he was sobbing. He didn't realize just how long it had been since he saw Karma, aside from pictures. Being able to see Karma was more than enough for him, and he finally let himself break down.

Things have been hard without you.

I've missed you so much.

I love you.

Karma gently wrapped his arms around Nagisa, treating him with fragility, as if he would break any second.

A soft, small smile made its way on Karma's face, as he comforted Nagisa. Not only was Nagisa being comforted, but Karma also felt a sense of relief after being able to see him. Being able to hold him once more.

Not exchanging many words, the two settled into each other's grasp, comfortably enjoying each other's company. Company that Nagisa had longed for.

Nagisa had long since ceased his weeping, focusing himself on returning Karma's embrace. Breathing in his nostalgic scent, which seemed not to have changed from how he remembered it.

He wished this moment could last forever.

So when Nagisa's vision got hazy and his body began to fade away, Nagisa didn't try to fight. He tried to remember this moment the best he could, tucking it into a special pocket of his heart to remember.

The last thing he remembered before waking up was Karma holding his limp and fading body, with a sad smile and falling tears.
