"So, you want me to plant these flowers?"
"Uh... you don't have to plant them, but I figured it would be like... me giving you flowers," Hordak explained, sounding a bit embarrassed, "They're your favorite."
"Ahh, thank you, Hordak! I'm going to go plant them right now? Is that okay? I need to dig through my garage for a pot or something. Heh, it's kind of a mess in there right now. That's where I... experiment?" She told him sheepishly. He let out a snort of laughter. "Alright, go figure that out. Goodbye, Entrapta."
"Bye, Hordak! I'll go plant my flowers from 1970!"
——
Entrapta was finally able to find a small pot, the perfect size to plant the seeds.
She excitedly made her way to her front yard where she sat down in the grass and put dirt in the pot. Before she tore open the packet of seeds, she inspected it. Hopefully this would work. She wanted to be able to plant the flowers and watch them grow. She wanted to-
"Hey, Entrapta!" A familiar voice called out. Entrapta groaned internally. She didn't feel like socializing with her neighbors right now. She just wanted to plant the flowers and then get back inside so she could talk to Hordak again. But, being the friendly person she was, Entrapta turned around and waved at her neighbor, Adora. She saw her walking over.
"Wow, I didn't know you were into gardening," Adora told her. "Not usually," Entrapta mumbled, focusing on the flowers once again. "So, what's got you into it today?"
Entrapta paused before she said anything.
"Someone gave them to me."
She glanced up at her neighbor who was smirking at her.
"What?" Entrapta asked, dropping the stuff she was holding. "Are you seeing someone?" Adora immediately asked. Entrapta looked away and shook her head gently, "Not exactly."
Adora cocked her head but didn't say anything. She stood there for a moment, watching as Entrapta quickly planted the seeds and then sighed in relief.
"Okay, thanks, Adora! I gotta go now!" Entrapta exclaimed, picking up the flower pot and immediately turning around to leave. "Wait! Entrapta, would you like to maybe... come to my house and catch up with Catra and I?"
——
So, now Entrapta was sitting with Adora and her wife, Catra. Not exactly where she wanted to be, but she guessed it wasn't that bad. She hadn't talked to her neighbors in a while, it might've even been a year. The only time Entrapta ever left the house was for work or groceries, and sometimes she never even left for work.
They sat in uncomfortable silence for a while, but Adora started up a conversation.
"So, someone sent you flowers?" Adora asked. Catra shifted her gaze to Entrapta. "Uh, yes! We've been talking for a few weeks now," Entrapta replied, returning Catra's look. She saw her smirk and then look at Adora. "Wow, looks like Entrapta's got herself another datemate," Catra whispered.
Entrapta looked down, a bit uncomfortable. She wouldn't call Hordak her "datemate". They weren't dating.
"We aren't dating," Entrapta commented softly.
"Oh. Well, it's good you're talking to someone. How did you guys meet?" Adora wondered. "Oh, we met online," Entrapta answered with a grin, perking back up and looking at them again. "I never saw you as the type of person to use dating apps," Catra snickered.
"Me neither, actually! I guess I just got curious one day and decided to try it out. I never actually wanted to start talking to anyone," Entrapta lied. The two neighbors nodded. Catra took a sip of the coffee she had in front of her.
"Well, I'd better get going," Entrapta finally said, standing up, "I've got somewhere to be."
Catra didn't say anything, but she watched as she made her way to the front door. "Hey, maybe you should come over more often? We might need help with Finn sometime, too," Adora said quickly before Entrapta closed the door. "I'd be happy to help! I have been a bit busy lately, but I'm sure I could work it into my schedule," Entrapta smiled. Adora returned the smile, "Thank you, Entrapta! Stay safe!"
Once Entrapta shut the door, she let out a sigh of relief and then picked up her flower pot that she had left on the door step.
She did love her neighbors. She really did. But she just wished they would leave her alone. Adora was always trying to start a conversation with Entrapta. Entrapta didn't like talking to people. And she especially didn't like it when Adora invited her over. She knew she was just trying to be nice, but people overwhelmed her and she was so scared of messing up. It seemed like she messed everything up. Besides at work. She was always good at her work.
She also seemed pretty good at talking to Hordak. And she was glad because she was heading to talk to Hordak at that ever moment. She brought the flowers into her house and carried them upstairs, setting them on the desk. And then she waited for the phone to ring.
It took awhile for him to call again. Entrapta read a book as she waited.
When the phone rang, she set down the book and jumped up happily.
"Hi, Hordak! Sorry, I was out planting the flowers and then my neighbors came and invited me over to "catch up". They think I'm going insane or something. They always try and get me to come over and talk," Entrapta told him with a groan.
"Ah. Well, at least you were being kind," Hordak said. Entrapta shrugged to herself and sighed, "I guess so."
They were both quiet for a moment.
"Entrapta, I apologize, but I have to go," Hordak said hurriedly. "Oh, okay! Bye, Hordak!"
He didn't even say goodbye before he hung up.
Entrapta sighed again and set the phone down. She just wanted to talk to Hordak for a minute.
Oh, well. She could talk to him tomorrow.
