Claire POV
I walked in one night from work. I closed the door quietly because I didn't want to wake anyone. I thought everyone was sleeping but then I heard voices when I got closer to the living room. It was David and Veronica, she was screaming at him. I knew I shouldn't have been listening but I couldn't help it.
" Why didn't you answer the phone when I called you.You dum shit!" Yelled Veronica
"Because I was at work, I couldn't answer the phone I had to turn it off." David said softly.
"I don't care I told you any time that I'm calling you have to awnser I don't care what your doing" Veronica's voice was getting louder.
"I'm sorry but my boss is very stricked when it comes to doing work, you can't stop to answer phone every time it rings" David said with a little bit of annoyance in his voice
"EXCUSE ME! I don't want to have this conversation again." She said quitely but still loud enough for me to hear. I wanted to run up to her and say you have no right to be treating my brother like that, he has to work and he can't be picking up the phone every time you want something. I wanted to yell at David to too. Why was he taking this? And why is he apologizing for not being able to pick up the phone? I wanted to say all of this but held it in when I heard them coming towards me,I didn't want to make it seem like I was listening to their conversation (even though I was) I quickly hide in the closet and waited for them to leave. When I finally heard the door close I came out of the closet and went to my room.
