Yours truly, princess (AU)

Chapter - 5

"Are you joking or something?"

"No Louis, it's me, I'm princess. I wrote the letters."

"Wow, I really don't know what to say to that. I- I've been wanting to know who it is so badly for such a long time and now that I know that it's you, it is... it is very surprising, I'd say."

"Why, you thought I couldn't write?" Amelia asks with a smile.

"No, no, I actually... I mean, you actually... you gave me the 'you and I tonight' kind of vibes, since you've said that to me once."

"Oh, so what about it?"

"So, you know, I did not expect you to be someone who actually wants the old school love, like I do... and like the way you wrote in the poems."

"Well, now you know me, that's what I want."

"Strangely enough, I don't think that I know you well enough even now."

The two of them remain silent for some time, but then Louis finally asks her, "Why did you stop writing?"

"I... I stopped writing because... umm... I was going to tell you the truth today, you know... so I thought that writing anonymously isn't required anymore," Amelia answers.

"Okay, but what were you so scared of? Why didn't you tell me earlier?"

"I guess I just wanted it to be my time and place, the confession... you know?"

Louis wants to laugh at this. I mean, this is her 'time and place'?  The lawn in Harry's house on Halloween? Anyway, Louis just nods to this.

They remain silent for time before Amelia asks, "Louis, now that you know the truth, just let me know if you want to date me now maybe, okay?"

"Uhh, yea sure. I mean, you can be my girlfriend I guess, I've been wanting to date princess so badly for a long time now, so... "

"Wow, I really can't believe that this is happening," Amelia says and gives Louis a kiss on the cheek.

Even Louis can't believe that he actually said those things. He could've said that he needed time to think or something like that. Why did you say yes Louis? But she is princess and Louis is in love with princess. Okay, Louis has a girlfriend now, cool.

"I'll see you at school tomorrow then, we'll go somewhere together after that, okay?" Amelia asks Louis as she is about to leave him there to rejoin the party.

"Yeah," Louis responds.

Louis still cannot believe that all of this actually happened. Ten minutes ago he did not have a girlfriend, but now he does. This is all just very weird. But it's also a bit nice, just a bit though. 

"Louis, what are you doing here, don't we have to leave? It's so late, an hour past your curfew. Your mum has called me thrice already."

"Yes Liam, we should go."

Louis gets up from the porch and walks with Liam to the party to fetch Zayn and Niall. While they're walking, Liam asks Louis, "Niall told me that you said yes to Amelia, are you two dating now?"

"How the fuck does Niall get to know stuff so quickly?"

"That means it's true, you got a girlfriend Louis!"

"Yeah," Louis says in a not-so-amused manner, "Yeah, I got a girlfriend."

"What's the matter, I thought this is what you wanted? Weren't you madly in love with 'princess'? "

"Yes, yes I was. I just don't know how I feel about it now that I'm in a relationship."

"Take your time Louis, I know you'll figure it out," Liam says, patting Louis on the back.
