"I'll be going on a mission soon, it'll take awhile till I'm back"
It was an early morning when Rengoku, your significant other, came to tell you the news.
It was nothing special as you were a pillar as well, missions are normal. Although to each mission you worry every second till he comes back in your arms again, fearing that the exact same day he wouldn't be able to ever come back again.
"When?" Was the only thing you questioned as you stood at your doorway.
"Tommorow, I would like to spend my remaining Time with you now [y/n]" He practically yelled with a big smile.
With his enthusiasm to spend time with you, it quickly broke your serious demeanor and turned into a rather sweet one. In your entire life only one man was able to do that, it was Rengoku.
The two of you spent time walking around the nature, enjoying each other's presence. Although Rengoku seemed to take an unusual turn to another direction.
"Where are you leading me to dear? This isn't our usual route around the forest" his hand was still in yours, dragging you to an unknown place.
" Close your eyes darling, we're reaching soon" He softly said.
Of course, you listened to his instructions and closed your eyes. Letting him lead you through the forest, hand in hand with him.
" You may open your eyes now dear. "
The sight of wisteria flowers and the beautiful lake soon hit you. The sun was shining brightly and it felt as if you were in a dream.

"Rengoku what is this place?it's beautiful.." you questioned, still in awe by the scenery and the beauty of the place. Jumping and running around like a child in a playground, you were excited about the discovery of such a place.
"Hahaha! I knew you would like it, I found this place not long ago and figured I would bring you here for important occasions!" He answered
"Important occasions?" You stopped wandering and turned to him. If he brought you here, there could only mean he had something to tell you right?
Suddenly his smile dropped into a serious expression. He grew silent.
He started to approached you, it was scaring you.
"Dear, is there something wrong?"
He didn't reply. Only nearing you more with each and every step.
"Dear, if there's anything you want to discuss about we can do it in your place you know?"
He stood in front of you staring straight into your soul with a gentle and calm expression.
" Rengoku answer m-"
" [L/n][Y/n] my mother used to say, once I met the one, I would know it in my heart. You have touched my soul with your burning passion and fighting spirit and most importantly, touched my heart. Whether or not we are pillars, I must make this proposal to you. Will you attend a yuino ( traditional Japanese engagement ceremony) with me as my fiance?"
He grabbed both of your hands with his.
You couldn't say anything, only could stare into his deep red eyes. His love was like an everlasting flame that warmed your soul.
" I...I accept!" You quickly answered. Though you were in shock, you knew what your heart wanted. Which is to be with rengoku, no matter life or death. Tears of joy sooner begun streaming down your face, with such overwhelming emotions how could you not cry?
His calm expression turned into a bright smile.
"I love you [y/n]!" He picked you up at spun you around.
The rest of the day was spent on celebration between you and your soon to be husband. Although the rest of the night was even more enjoyable for the both of you.

( The next day)
Rengoku was getting ready to leave for his mission.
You were practically clinging on to him like your dear life depended on it.
"Do you really have to go dear? Couldn't Oyakata sama send anyone else?" You complained, not wanting to let your fiance go just yet.
"I'm afraid not my dear, you'd just have to wait for me to be back. . . But if I don't come back, remember that I love you forever, even in the afterlife (A/N LMAO MY SANEMI ANGST REF- ok I'll stop now) "
The atmosphere soon turned dark. The both of you knew it was not guaranteed that he was going to be alive after this mission.
You wrapped your arms around his torso.
" I love you Rengoku kyojuro"
"I love you too, (l/n)(y/n)" he hugged you tightly as well. Burying your head on his shoulder, you finally decided to let him go.
As he walked away he waved goodbye to you with a large smile on his face, shouting continuous " I love you!"'s to you.
[Time skip..]
(A/n I'm really sorry)
It's been a few days since he left. You were continuing with your daily chores as usual.
As you holding your laundry basket, your crow, ( crow name) came flying down.
"...the train has been secured, no passengers died. Rengoku kyojuro died in the fight during the encounter of the third upper rank demon."
The splashing of water, the sound of the laundry bucket hitting the ground.
The constant ringing in your ear, as if your own mind didn't want to believe what you just heard.
