This takes place between 'Digging Deeper' and 'The Devil's Sea Mystery' I hope you enjoy the chapter, you get to know a little about Tsuki's past.

-----

I ran through the forest. My blue shirt was ripped and cut around the arms and shoulders, my pants had some cuts as well, and I abandoned my shoes when they were hindering me. My mother and I's katanas were in their sheaths attached to my belt. I had a bag on my back that held some storage scrolls and other scrolls that my mother left me. I had some other items in there that I didn't have time to put in the storage scrolls.

My wolf ears and tail were out. I needed every advantage I could get to get away from them. I wanted to get revenge for what they did to my mother, Yuki, and me, but I had to lead them away from them.

I could hear them chasing after me, on horses. I jumped on a huge fallen log and jumped off it.

DODGE!

I couldn't dodge in time, I felt a burning pain on the side of my thigh. I fell, I saw the arrow on the ground. I was terrified when I noticed the tip was covered in something. I pushed through the pain and got up. I had to get out of here.

A net was thrown over me. The person pulled back on a rope to tighten it so I couldn't escape. Before I could grab my katana the net was lifted off the ground. I cried out in pain as I felt the rope rub against my wounds.

"You didn't think we actually let you get away?" I snarled at the voice. I turned to look at a man, with black hair, red eyes, and his clawed face. I was proud I was able to get his face once, right over his left eye. He walked closer to me. In a flash I swiped my hand across his chest, causing some scratches. "You damn demon!" He smacked a wooden club against me.

I cried out in pain. The other men came around and surrounded me. "Don't hurt it too much, we need it alive." A man with a hat got off his horse and walked up to me. "Ah, the last Lunarian... We never thought your kind would be alive or even exist."

"I'm not the last one!" I yelled. I glared at the man.

"You are now."

Those words echoed in my mind. 'Please...please let that be a lie! Oh stars, please let this be a lie!'

"No, you're lying!" I yelled. Tears were streaming down my face. By their faces, I knew they weren't lying...I smelled my mother's blood on some of them. This would explain my aching chest.

'Mother...she's gone...'

Something in me snapped, I felt... cold and powerful. I glared at them when they came closer. They froze where they were, terrified of me. A dark smile crept on my face. A dark blue mist surrounded me and when it cleared I was out of the net, on the ground. I held my dark blade in my hand, "You will pay for your actions..." My voice was cold and emotionless. My vision started to blur and all I saw was red.

---

I had no idea what was going on. I looked around me to see a dark room. I saw a cell, the bars were dark in color and the smell of old blood hit my nose. The lock to it was broken, meaning that whatever was in there escaped. I could feel a cold dark presence. I turned around to see a hooded figure, its energy was cold and dark, with pitch-black hair and red glowing eyes, and way taller than me, "Nice of you to finally let me free." Its deep cold voice sent shivers down my spine.

"Let you free?" I asked.

"Your mother didn't tell you, did she? Well, too late now."

"Tell me what?"

"You're not normal, child. She knew that since the day you were born. Realizing how different you were when you started gaining your powers."

"Who are you?!" I yelled. I got into a fighting stance. This thing is making me feel like I have to run, to run and hide. I was scared.

Its dark laugh echoed, "I'm the darkness that plagued this world the moment my brother and I were created. I was killed and destroyed, but little pieces of me were left. Your goddess sealed me when I tried to take possession of people, her people. I wasn't able to do anything... until you came around. A child blessed by the moon, a child from Light's descendant."

"Y-your Dark? Light's counterpart, known as Death-"

A dark chilling laugh echoed in the room, "Dark?! I'm not that weak-minded fool! I'm Chaos! Brother of Order, or god of the Sun as you mortals know him as."

"T-The lost son of the Creator?! I thought that was a story-"

"A myth? An old tale to scare kids? Sorry mortal, but it's real, and you're stuck in here with me. You have a great amount of darkness in you, even more now. I can easily take over."

"No... No, I'M NOT GOING TO BE YOUR PUPPET!" I backed up from him.

"Too late, I already took over... I just need to seal you away, permanently."

I had no choice... 'I know I promised you I wouldn't do it, mother.' I took a deep breath and tried to tap into my light, pure, energy, 'Moon, bright and pure in the darkest nights, purify me in your light. Eradicate the darkness, and seal it!' I prayed, using a technique I learned from my mother.

The pain was all I felt. Purifying, a technique only those with light energy could do to purify anything from impurities, darkness, and evil. The downside for me is that it could kill me, I had both light and dark energy. I'm causing a great imbalance in myself that could make me very ill, ill enough to die.

When I opened my eyes, I was surrounded by bodies... I felt sick looking at them. My blade was covered in red. I turned to see someone on their feet. "Y-you're a monster..." I saw his red eyes glow. "I should've killed you when I had the chance all those years ago." He charged at me, bloodied sword ready to kill me. Those eyes terrified me... they were filled with so much hatred and anger. His energy turned from neutral to dark, like he was hiding it. My eyes widened.

~~~
I sat up from my bed, breathing hard. I looked around me to see my room, not in a forest like my dream. 'It was just a dream...a bad dream.' I jumped off my need and looked in the small mirror I had. I snarled at my bright red eyes... a curse I was burdened with. I roughly dried the tears from my face, I had to calm down. I didn't want that thing to take control if he could. I couldn't believe I forgot about something like that! I knew I had to keep my emotions under control, I was told to by my mother, to be careful all of my life. Now I was reminded of the reason why... 'I could've caused the Nekton family injury by forgetting! I have to start remembering things now, but I need to calm down first.'
I grabbed some old books I had on me. Might as well try and translate them, it could help me remember. I grabbed an armful and sat on the ground, only to have to get up and turn on the lights. I sighed and walked over to turn them on, adjusting them to a lower level.
I sat down and grabbed a book. "Let's hope this will distract me for the night..."
