There is a row of wooden desks in a college classroom. The classroom is full of students typing something on their laptops, the teacher is talking about faraday's cages. A boy is working on a blender project at one of those wooden desks. He is wearing a blue hoodie, has short hair, and seems to be extremely engrossed in his work. He smiles as he completes his work on a model ship and shuts his laptop screen.
Teacher:
"Looks like one of you guys have finished working on your faraday's cage simulation, Mr Williams, mind opening your laptop to show the work to the class? If you are fine with that of course."
Jake Williams looks up in surprise with wide-open eyes yet with a look that makes him look like he just woke up, he quickly glanced over a nearby batchmate's laptop, to grasp which class he was in. He answers as quickly as possible.
Jake Williams:
"The prices of overnight hotel rooms have climbed over the years and don't seem to be slowing down, entering the market now to reap benefits of the profits would be a good idea. I haven't made the report yet but my laptop is low on battery."
The teacher chuckles and raises an eyebrow. He says playfully.
Teacher:
"You don't know what class you are in, Jake, do you? Next time instead of looking at your neighbour's laptop for the answer just look at the board for the question before coming up with a lie, trust me it's very useful. And about your neighbouring friend. You recently got a girlfriend, didn't you? Good luck with that hotel bill."
Jake uses his hand to cover his smile
Teacher:
"Buddy you're not off the hook. You still have to show me that 2D physics simulation by the end of class."
Scene Change
At a boulevard, the trees on either side have been ripped apart from the ground and have fallen westwards, almost all have been lit of fire except for one odd tree on the east sidewalk, the buildings on both sides are in a similar state, shattered bricks lie on the boulevard along with scorched remains of human flesh.
Two individuals wearing hazmat suits walk into the boulevard. They start examining nearby buildings or what remains of them
The individual on the left speaks with a manly and tired voice
Left Individual:
"This entire place has been desecrated, the bricks are hot enough to melt that suit of yours if you get too close, all the humans have neatly been arranged by the blast on the west side like oversized kebabs....... Did you know there is a planet where it literally rains molten chocolate, and all amusement parks are absolutely free along with slightly illegal due to the health risks? Could have gone there, but no... Let's go to the site of a nuclear power plant explosion because God knows that you will find survivors in a place that literally has been hot enough to cook pasta."
The individual on the right speaks with a young woman's voice. She sounds slightly angry.
The Right Individual:
"Dad, seriously these people are our responsibility, even if there is just a 1% chance of saving someone then it's worth it. And you said it yourself there are a few bodies that were never found."
Dad:
"It's a lot less than 1% trust me. There were only ever a few bodies missing and they were of infants. Look at what the blast did to the other bodies, the infants probably vapourised. The risk of our suits melting and burning with us in them is not worth it. Besides looking at the debris, many of them have hints of white paint but the buildings were green in colour. Do you know which buildings were white? The houses 2 blocks eastward. That blast slingshotted them all the way over here. No human can survive that."
