Missed Chance

Right now you're off to sleep in a different bed,

I lay here missing you with thoughts racing in My head

I wish I hadn't missed the chance to talk to you this night

Instead, I had to work on the motor until it ran right

You were worried about me because it had been too long

Since I had talked to you and shared a silly song.

When I finally got the chance to ease your mind

I still had to Meg the motor and I was in a bind

My phone shut off because it lost power

And I couldn't respond to you for another hour

But by the time I could tell you I am heading home

You had already fallen asleep and hid your phone.

Now I miss you and wish you were near

But it will be a while before you can come back here

I long for the time when I can spend the night

And hold you in my arms so very tight.

I write this silly poem because I just want you to know

You are my one and only I could never let go.

I love you so much that there are no words that can say

How much I miss you and need you when you are away.

I end this letter with this for you to keep in mind

That you are the best man a girl could ever find.
