Ghost of You

I lay here with my eyes shut closed

Taking my mind to a place where no one goes

I feel your strong embrace as you take my hand

Your lips softly brush mine as we lay down in the sand

The salty midnight air blows through my messy hair

My eyes come open only to gaze into your loving stare

All I see are big piercing blue eyes

With a background of a dark starry sky

You lean down and kiss me hard and sweet

A wave of ecstasy runs through my body all the way down to my feet

You wrap me up into your arms as my head begins to spin

All I can do is lean into you and try to hide my grin

Even though I know this is just a dream

Things sometimes are not what they seem

In an instant, everything will go black

As my mind is racing as it is being brought back

I open my eyes and look around

But you are nowhere to be found

My heart sinks down low in my chest

As reality sets in like it does best

Darkness and shadows of sadness crowd around me

My once beating heart becomes so cold and empty

I get up and begin my everyday act

But I know when the sun goes down I'll get you back
