Annie's POV:
"I don't care if my dads are gay!" I told the girls that used to be my friends.
"Well we do, we don't want to be friends with someone that had gay parents," Amy said.
"Most of the kids have gay parents!" I say.
"Well they aren't out friends," she says.
"Look we don't appreciate gay people so just leave us alone," she laughs.
"Don't you dare start saying things about gay people!" I yell.
"Annie," I hear someone and turn sound. "Get in," he gestures for the car. I glare at Amy before I nod and go to the car.Mike's POV:
"Hey girl," I say after Annie left. She turned to me.
"What?" She asked disgusted.
"Don't talk about gays like that, you don't know, maybe you'll end up meeting a girl," I push Jeremy a bit forward. "And fall in love the second day, heck, you might even marry her, you don't know what could happen so shut your mouth," I said.
Jeremy whispered something to me. I glared at the girl before I walked back to the car with Jeremy.
"Dad? Why are you bruised?" Annie asks.
"Annie," I say firmly as I continue driving. I didn't want them to know.
"I just want to know why he's bruised," she replies. "Dad?" She looks at Jeremy.
"Annie stop," I say turning the corner. I pull into the driveway.
"Dad.." she started.
"Annie!" I yell parking the car a bit intense because everyone jumped. I got out of the car and slammed the door.Jeremy's POV:
"Leave your dad alone, he's just stressed Annie," I say looking back at her. "I just got hurt, that's it." I said getting out of the car.
"Ok dad," she replied as she got out with Toby. we get inside the house and into the kitchen. We find Mike sitting at the table with his head in his hands.
"Mike? What's wrong?" I ask.
"Can we talk?" He asks. I nod and tell the kids to go play upstairs. I sit down next to Mike.
"What happened?""I lost my job."
