"hurry! grab the chair!" dani tossed a chair up to simon, who caught it with ease. his mouth dropped open as he screamed his head off. his face scrunched in fear and his body bouncing against the door with each hit from the killer.
he wore goggles kids would wear for science class to protect himself as he barricaded the door.

simon crouched on top of the desk, holding the chair in his hands to put more weight onto the door. dani crawled up, wearing the same goggles as he was and held the doorknob in place.
her body shook with each hit against the door. she closed her eyes tight. dani hoped the others would come up with a plan on how to escape nightwing quick. she was terrified of him, the way he ran made dani never want to be in his way—ever.

for a moment she thought of her aunt and uncle. she knew they died at camp nightwing all those years ago and now with seeing their murderer she felt more remorse than she ever had.
before they were just a simple thought. yes she had met them, however she'd just been a small toddler when they died meaning she had no actual memories of them. just pictures, letters, her mothers stories, and a couple of small homemade movies. so for her, it was easy to forget they even existed.

now that dani has seen nightwing, she sympathized with them much more.

a bit aways from the door, josh explained who c. berman was to sam. letting her read over the article as they conversed about their next plan and what their next moves would be.
her eyes scanned over the paper, reading over the article written about the sole shadyside survivor from the massacre at camp nightwing.

dani opened her eyes and glanced up to focus on simon, who screamed with every hit against the door. she ogled at the boys hair, watching as it bounced and fell back. she really did care for him, and the thought of this potentially being their final night made dani want to burst into tears. she silently cursed at the witch, praying she would just forgive sam and leave the group alone for the rest of time. however that wasn't how things worked in the real world and dani almost had to pinch herself to give her the reminder.
"i got it!" kate shouted "c. berman 9006 brennan way! this has got to be her!" deena jumped up to her feet, rushing towards the phone.
"155-4747!" kate shouted out the numbers to deena, who rushed to dial them.

simon looked down at dani "you know-!" he screamed against another hit "we could be more." he told her, closing his eyes against another hit.
dani almost froze, she would've looked as if she were a marble statue if it weren't for nightwings relentless attacks on the classroom door, "what do you mean?" she asked simon, her mind convincing her she heard it wrong and took it completely different than she thought. she turned her attention back to the door, holding onto the doorknob to hold her weight against it.
she prayed nightwing would leave, his hits against the door were relentless and dani knew the door wouldn't be able to withstand his attacks any longer "you know exactly what i mean," he told her, his eyes opened and staring at dani "it's always been you, dee." he smiled at her "and i don't know how much time we have left and i honestly don't want to waste anything being a pussy." he told her. dani could almost cry at the confession. she used to pray to hear those words come out his mouth.
