there was something about adventures that always seemed to draw julie toward. maybe it was the thrill of it, the adrenaline pumping through her veins taking over every blood cell she had until the girl felt nothing but euphoric adrenaline.
all julie wanted in life was adventure. she wanted to travel, to see the world her mother kept her hidden from.

julie wanted to see the world.

but until then she was forced to see woods, cabins, and sunnyvalers at stupid camp nightwing.

julie sat in the grass nearby the mess hall. she stared up at the sky with her hands folded over her stomach. she watched as the clouds slowly drifted by, some dissipating and joining bigger ones. it was calming.
until it wasn't.

"where is she!? where the fuck is that bitch ziggy berman!?" a shrill voice shrieked from the cabins.
julie lifted her head to stare at the commotion, she couldn't even have five seconds of silence before one of the prissy sunnyvalers ruined it.

sheila looked furious, her friends stood tall behind her as one of the little kids told sheila where ziggy ran, and without a word sheila and her friends sprinted in the direction. a blur of long red hair ran away from the sunnyvalers.
julie rolled her eyes, leaning back against the grass to stare up at the vibrant blue sky once more.

she closed her eyes, relishing in the warm light the sun provided.
it felt nice.
until a shadow from above shielded julie from the light "what?" julie spoke, opening her eyes to see evangeline, her brother's girlfriend, staring down at her with a widened smile.

"hey! you look comfy." evangeline spoke, moving to sit next to the younger girl.
julie propped herself up on her elbows, staring at evangeline with a grin "don't you have counselor duties to do? you know cindy will get on your ass if you don't help." julie teasingly stated. julie liked her brothers girlfriend, she was nice to her and that was all that mattered in her tiny world.

evangeline rolled her eyes "it'll be fine, i finished everything i have to do anyways. plus i know how bored you are." she nudged julie's shoulder with her own "it feels so nice here, i can see why you sit here everyday." she leaned her head back, closing her eyes to enjoy the sun just as julie did just moments before.

julie glanced around, eyes searching through the dozens of bodies running and laughing "where's randy?" she asked, turning back to evangeline.

evangeline sighed "talking to gary, something about the color war tonight." the girl opened her eyes, turning back to her boyfriends little sister.
"can i braid your hair?" she asked softly.

julie smiled, giving the older girl a quiet nod and turning her back toward evangeline.
she liked talking and hanging with her, something about evangeline's aura calmed julie down. she could see why her brother chose her to be his girlfriend, she was nice and caring.

the two girls quietly talked as evangeline braided a single tight braid on one side of julie's hair, leaving the rest loose.
julie laughed at something evangeline said, her stomach feeling light as she reached up to hide her wide smile, her laughter rang through the air.
