Faded in My Last Song (A NCT Fanfiction)

Hi, MintyTae here!

I present you my 2021 project, Faded in my Last Song! 

This is the biggest project that I have ever worked on (as you can see, I spent hours making the book cover and the chapter title banner). As NCT has 23 (Crackheads), it will be especially hard to give everyone an equal amount of character time. 

I have gotten into NCT back in 2018. My biases are Renjun, YangYang, Chenle, Taeyong, Jungwoo, Xiaojun, Jaemin. My favorite unit is NCT Dream but I love all 23 dorks. 

In this story, we will be focusing on NCT trying to survive an alien invasion. The question will be who will survive and what they will do to survive. Don't worry, as I picked the title Faded in my Last Song, I will find ways to connect the story to the actual lyrics!

With that said, here are some things I wanted to talk about before I begin the project. 

1. The chapters will be split by chapter names and file names. For example, 1 chapter can be titled: Reset (File: Dream). This indicates the chapter's character focus so in this case File: Dream would mean the NCT Dream members are the focused characters for the chapter. Note that even if the unit is filed, a member may or not be mentioned in the specific chapter.  

So basically the primary file names would be:

File: 127, File: Dream, File: WayV

I'm aware that Sungchan and Shotaro are not in a fixed unit so if they become focus characters for the chapter, they will be filed as File: Sungtaro.

**Mark and Haechan will be grouped in both Dream and 127 for obvious reasons. Winwin will be only grouped into WayV since he is inactive in 127. 

2. Note that sometimes there can be a case where a chapter is labeled for example File: WayV; Chenle/Renjun. This would mean that both Chenle and Renjun would also be a focus on that specific chapter. Another thing is that a chapter may be titled File: Mark; Jungwoo; Sungchan, which means the chapter will be specifically focused on the members mentioned. 

3. Other groups such as SuperM will be mentioned as Mark, Taeyong, Ten, and Lucas are members. However, they won't really be the center of the story. With that being said, SHINee, EXO, and other SM artists can also be side characters or be mentioned. 

Also before you go asking, NCT/WayV pets (Bella, Leon, Louis, Daegal) will be characters (as they are official NCT family members duh).

4. If a scenario where SM announces a new unit and new members of NCT during the process of this series, the book cover, chapter banners will be updated with the new members. The reason I included NCT 2020 in the cover was that it was the current year with OT23 members of NCT as of 2021. 

5. I will not be shipping every member of NCT because as you know, there's 23 of them and god knows how many fan ships. So I will only be focusing on the popular ones (Markhyuck, Chenji, Nomin, Renhyuck*, DoTae, KunTen, JungJae, Yuwin, Sungtaro). More on Markhyuck and Renhyuck later *wink wink*

6. This series will be updated every weekend unless I make an announcement. The timing of the publications will not be set, which means whenever time I complete it, it will be published. As of right now, I have set a goal for 50 chapters (yes I know) but depending on how the story goes and views it may extend or be shortened. 

As of the release of this novel (July 2021) I will attempt in updating this series every week. However I am in the process of moving to another place, so if I don't update weekly, I will most likely be updating the following week. 

7. Finally, I'm open up to feedback as I go. While I have some ideas of where the story will go, I'm willing to read comments for ideas.
