It was a cool dark summer night, the Avengers had all gathered around a clearing in New York Central Park waiting quietly and very still as the honking of cars and shouts of people could be heard form the city. Captain America, also known as Steve Rogers with his shield shining and casting off a reflection in the full moon waited next to Iron Man AKA Tony Stark for orders on their next move. Tony sat on a park bench, his armor gleaming and his stark reactor casted an eerie glow across the park. In Tony's hand was a small computerized gadget that fit in the palm of his hand, he was constantly looking at the machine and hitting buttons that made soft beeping noise. As Tony plugged away on his machine, Thor the god of thunder and Hulk the alter ego of Bruce Banner sat in the shadows of the trees testing their strength in a game of arm wrestling, grunting and groaning as they waited.

"Tony, how much longer are we going to have to wait here, we've been here for hours."

Steve looked up at the night sky expecting to see something any moment then turned to Tony to hear his answer.

"Look I know we've been here for a while but trust me it will be here any moment. If my calculations are correct, which they always are... then this object that the S.H.I.E.L.D satellite has picked up should land somewhere right around here soon. I've checked all the calculations and the satellite says that the object is only a few minutes away from reaching the atmosphere, so we should start seeing something soon."

"I, but is it not wise to have Natasha and Clint here with us as in case they are needed."

Thor stood up from his game with the Hulk and walked over to join Iron Man and Captain America in their discussion. His red cap and golden hair flapped in the genital night breeze as he stepped out into the moonlight.

"Black widow and Hawkeye were needed on the S.H.I.E.L.D helicarrier, they will be monitoring the skies for any changes and readings on this incoming object."

"Humph, as long as I get to smash something for having to wait here so long I'm good."

Hulk stood up from the ground and leaned up agents a tree, his strong arms crossed in frustration for having been waiting in the dark for so long. Suddenly Tony stood up abruptly looking at his machine then looking up at the sky, his face shield slammed down as he prepared himself for what was to come.

"It looks like we won't have to wait here any longer because her it comes, in 3....2....1..."

Suddenly there was a loud boom as a large fiery object exploded from the sky lighting up the night like it was day. Screams of terror were heard from the people in the city as the fiery object passed over their heads, plummeting to the ground.

                "EVERY ONE GET DOWN!"

Captain America yelled at the Avengers as the fiery object passed to close. The Avengers dove to the ground as the object passed over their heads and smashed into the dirt taking out trees and throwing dirt and stone into the air as it left a long trench in the park before coming to a stop. The Avengers pulled themselves up off the ground coughing from the smoke in the air and brushing dirt and stone from themselves. Once the smoke and dirt cleared, they looked in awe at the torn up park with broken and scattered trees all over and a new large hole that was now steaming. Cautiously and ready for anything, the Avengers slowly walked up to the crater and peered inside. Inside the crater was an oval shaped black metallic space ship like object the size of a coffee table.

"Tony, what do you think that is?"

"I don't know Cap, but the readings are off the chart. Whatever it is its emitting extreme amount of energy. I've never seen anything like it."
