Life of the New Avenger (Loki love story)

Part 6

Loki's POV
Standing in the shadows, I watched as the one they call Dana slept after the man of spiders or Spider-Man brought her home from her fight. It angers me that I can not come out of hiding and help her, that I must stay in shadow and disguised after my last attempts to become king failed. I am also angered by the fact that such a man can and will harm Dana. That pathetic mortal, I will have his head for this. As long as I shall live nothing will harm this princes of the night, the one they say has fallen from heaven its self so many years ago. I remember the first time I saw her, just an infant yet so full of strength and joy.  I was a different man then, an insolent child who only hoped to please his father only to find out he was a monster. A Frost Giant taken in only as a sad attempt to stop a never ending feud with the Frost Giants and when that didn't work, casted back out and forgotten. Lucky for this girl, though none is known about her origin of where she was casted out from, she has still found joy and a family. Something I never had.
 Once Home Bruce Banner had carried Dana to her room so that she could rest while his wife, Betty Ross cleaned up Dana a bit, slipping on her black silk night gown and leaving her to rest in peace.  When the fussing over Dana had calmed down and the room was quiet, Loki slipped into the room to check on Dana In raven form. Loki flew through the open window were he then transformed into his human form and now stood quietly watching Dana.
As I Watched Dana her pale skin and golden hair seemed to glow in the dark as moon light streamed in through the open window to rest upon her face. With her black wings and smooth white skin she made me think of some sort of Moon goddess. If there are gods for us gods then she is definitely one of them for there has never been anyone more beautiful then the girl that lies before me now. If only I did not have to hide from Odin and brute of a brother Thor, only then could I appear to her in my human form, but sadly I must stay hidden till that time is wright.
Unable to help himself, Loki approached Dana's bedside. With a smooth stroke of his hand, Loki lightly brushed a strand of hair out of her face, gently stroking her check. A light smile seemed to play upon Dana's lips as if even in deep sleep, she knew that her guardian was there protecting her. Loki stayed by her side till the sun began to rise again. As the sun streamed through the window, its warm rays seemed to bring some life back into Dana as she began to stir. With a deep sigh Loki knew it was time for him to go. With one last look at his sleeping moon goddess, Loki transformed back into a raven and soared out through the window.
 
Dana's POV
I began to wake up as my dreams began to fade. Sitting up I found myself back in my black and clay colored room. It was a very large room for Tony knows no expense. The room had clay colored walls with black furniture and black silk sheet on the bed. There was a large bathroom and a walk in closet as well. Rubbing my head I saw I was wearing my silk black nightgown that Betty must have put me in after coming home from my mission with S.H.I.L.E.D. But what happened after I passed out and did that raven talk to me. Feeling confused and still weary as my strength slowly recovered, I sat back in bed resting my head on the cool wall, struggling to make since of yesterday's events. It was only then did the smell of Pepper's homemade pancakes and Thor's pop tarts waft into my room making my stomach growl. Fighting and using that much magic always made me hunger and right now I was starved.   Getting up, I decided to take a shower to wash away the grime from the fight and to help clear my head, letting the warm water run down my back erasing away my troubles. After getting all cleaned up I threw on my teal I love NY T-shirt with a pair of jean capris before padding out into the kitchen for some breakfast.
                "Hey guys, breakfast smells good."
                "Dana o my goodness, how are you feeling, how's your head, o you poor girl please sit down I'll get you a plate set up. THOR WILL YOU GET OUT OF HERE, SAVE SOME FOR DANA."
                "Murmph...... sorry Pepper but tis a meal like no other and only Midgard has these delectable pastries you call pop tarts."
                "Yea well leave some for Dana OK you've had enough already... here take your coffee and go sit down."
                "Very well Miss Pots"
 
I laughed as Thor sat at the table with me as he began to sip his coffee, Pepper brought over a large plate of pancakes, rolling her eyes at Thor as I began to dig in.
                "There is nothing worse than a woman's scorn Thor"
                "Ahhh tis true Iron man, I have suffered the wrath of many women, manly from lady Sif and Lady Jane."
                "Doesn't surprise me. Hey there kido, how's the pyro doing."
With a smile I nodded for my mouth was to full of pancakes to answer. I watched as Tony walked into the room to join us. His stark reactor glowed through his black t-shirt as he ruffled my hair before sitting down at the kitchen bar to watch Pepper cook. Soon after Tony came in Steve fallowed not far behind, followed by Clint and Natasha, and then my Father Bruce and my mother Betty. Betty and Bruce had been dating before my father even became the Hulk, but once he changed from the gamma radiation, Bruce was too afraid to get close to Betty. My Father feared that the Hulk would hurt Betty and thus he always kept pushing her away. It wasn't until my father adopted me did he realize that maybe the Hulk wasn't so dangerous after all. So if the Hulk can care for an infant and protect her then he shouldn't be a threat to Betty either. After that Bruce and Betty got back together and soon they got married. It's funny looking back on their story of how my father feared what the Hulk could do to Betty but to be honest I think the Hulk is more afraid of Betty then she is of him. You definitely do not want to mess with my mother, and the Hulk knows it.
Everyone sat at the table and began to eat their breakfast except for Pepper and Tony who sat at the kitchen bar table to eat their breakfast. Finishing up her breakfast, Dana put her fork down and sat back in her char waiting to hear about what happened last night.
                "Ok guys fill me in, what happened after I passed out... did they save the rhinos... is Peter ok?"
                Dana you need to be more careful when you're out on a mission like that. If you're going to fight then I need you to be more careful. We can't always be there to protect you and God knows what would happen if I lost you. That's my biggest fear Dana, is losing you then losing myself to the Hulk, turning into a raging monster because I lost you. I'm just thankful Peter was there with you and the he saved you from Kraven. He's such a nice young man, I don't see why you don't go out with him.
                "DAADDDD stop it your embarrassing me. First of all yes I know I should have been more careful with Kraven, he just caught me off guard and landed a good blow. But you can't worry about losing me, I worry about losing you too, all of you, but that doesn't stop us from trying to save people. We have no idea where I came from or even what species I am, but I really don't care. All I know is that I have a power that allows me to help people and by gosh darn it I'm gonna use it. Second of all ewww Peter is like my brother were just really good friends."
                "Dana and Peter sitting in a tree K.I.S.S.I.N.G......"
                "Shut up Hawkweye, nobody asked you."
                "Come on Kido, were all thinking it. Who's that special someone in your life?"
Tony asked as he leaned forward on his elbows, eagerly waiting for my answer. To reveal to them who has captured my heart.
                                "Look I'm not discussing my love life with my family even if I did have someone, which by the why I do not."
                                "O come on kid, we've seen all the boys staring at you and you mean to tell me that you never once had a boyfriend."
                                "YUP THAT IS CORRECT. I'm as fee as a bird, you can't capture this hart easily."  
                                "You know I prefer it that way Tony. Keep those boys away from my daughter."
                                "But you're her father; you're supposed to say things like that. You know Dana you should get out more. You're always reading or training; you should go clubbing, have some fun. When I was your age I went to all the cool parties and had all the ladies..... o but I only had eyes for you dear."
Tony stammered glancing at an angry Pepper who glared at Tony for his remark on women and his advice for Dana.
                               " I do to get out sometimes. I usually go and hang out with Rubi and Julia in Asgard."
                                "Ok hanging out with your two Asgardian friends you meet at Asgardian training camp would count if you three actually went out and talk to boys, you three just keep to your selves."
                                "NOBODY ASKED YOU CLINT, AGAIN. Look It's not that I don't talk, I mean I am shy and it takes me awhile to be more talkative and open to new people; but it's also I've just haven't found the right guy yet. Now can we change the subject, I don't what to talk about this with my family. So what happened after I passed out?"  
Steve then cleared his voice as he began to me what they knew of what happened last night.
                                "Well we don't know much miss; all we know is what has been told to us by Spider-man and S.H.I.L.E.D. Spider-man said that he couldn't see much but he heard a loud crowing noise and just after he finished off the henchmen, he saw a white light and then you were on the ground passed out while Kraven was trapped in an empty rhinos cage. Peter had stayed by your side and kept you safe till S.H.I.L.E.D  got there and took care of the rhinos and Kraven and his men. Peter had carried you onto a small air craft which then brought you home to us."
                                "Did Peter say anything about seeing a raven?"
                                "A raven ummmm....no not really sorry. He said he heard a raven caw and that he thought he saw a raven fly away from you when he approached that he found strange. But other than that it was too dark to really tell. Why.... This isn't still about that bird you said you saw as a child is it."
                                "No, no its nothing don't worry about it."
                                "You know Dana, father Odin has two ravens that he uses as his eyes and ears. Maybe one of them was sent to Midgard to assist you."
                                "Ummm.... Thanks Thor but I don't think it was them, his eyes were to human like and they were a light shade of....."
At that moment Jarvis, Iron-Man's robotic butler interrupted our conversation on the buildings speakers.
                               " Excuse me sir, sorry to interrupt but you have an important call form agent Fury, shall I send it through."
                                "Yea go ahead Jarvis let's see what Nick has to say."
As Tony turned around in his seat, a large TV screen rose up out of the floor and Nick Fury appeared on the screen.
                                "Avengers we have serious news about an alien attack on the way and a powerful weapon stolen called the tesseract. We need you here on the S.H.I.L.E.D. helicarrier right away; we have a lot to discuss."
With that the TV screen went dark and my family jumped up from their seats.
                                "All right your heard the man, Avengers assemble."
Tony shouted and with that we rushed off to get ready for what may lay ahead; but one thing was certain, I am definitely not being left out of this mission.
