Getting in the Avengers Quinjet, we shot off into the sky arriving moments later on the S.H.I.E.L.D helicarrier base. Looking out the window I watched as our jet near the landing area. It was always amazing to me how such a massive craft, larger than a navy ship, could stay up in the air like that. It always made me wonder what would happen if it one day decided to plummet to the ground, the mass destruction it could cause to the people below. Shaking my head trying to rid myself of the thought I got ready to leave the Quinjet. I never liked thinking about this and I would feel better if better precautions were made in case something like this was to happen but when I stated my concerns to Fury, he just brushed me off telling me that that would never happen. I sure hope he's right.
As the Avengers exited the jet, they were greeted by agent Coulson who lead them to director Fury's office. Coulson was always such a nice and happy guy and Dana always loves there chats that they would have over coffee, he was always there for her, to help her, train her, and to just be a good friend. Dana couldn't help but smile as she quietly listened behind the group to Coulson chatting away to Steve about how he was such a big fan on their way to Fury's office.
As we arrived to the office, Coulson became quiet and serious as we entered to see Nick Fury frustrated, his hand rubbing his temples as he paced back and forward behind his desk. Fury didn't even know we had entered, lost in thought he only stopped when Coulson interrupted.
"Ahem, Director Fury the Avengers are here as you asked."
"Good good please have a seat we have a lot to talk about. Now as you know S.H.I.E.L.D has collected what we deem dangerous alien tech and have hidden it away for everyone's safety but yesterday the tesseract, the one Captain America had taken from hydra, was stolen by what we believe was someone from Asgard. "
WHAT!
Everyone said at once. I was shocked to hear this, I know many Asgardians but only Thor ever comes to earth.
"Director Fury, please tell us what happened and what the man looks like."
"Right Captain, so we were doing some tests on the tesseract because in the past few weeks it has been giving off these strange readings of mass amounts of energy. During our testing some kind of portal was opened and a man with dark black hair in green armor came through. He destroyed everything with this golden staff and has even seemed to possess some of our recruits through mind control."
Listening to the description given by fury, Thor's fists became clenched as his knuckles turned white and his face began to turn red. I've only ever seen him look this upset when I told him that Miley Cyrus licked his hammer and he believed me.
"I know of the man you speak of, He is my brother Loki."
"LOKI? But you said he disappeared off the rainbow bridge, you said he died."
"I said he may have man of iron, his body was never found but that is definitely Loki."
*"Well your brother killed 80 people in two days" Natasha said, arms crossed in frustration as she looked over some shield files about the event.
*"He was adopted"
"Does anyone know why he killed these people or who they were? Do we have proof that HE killed them and not something or someone else."
Everyone looked at me staring with confused looks as if forgetting I was there in the first place and wondering why I would ask such a question? They all stared at me but I just stared back as if the question was the most obvious one.
"Dana its Loki, the guys a freakin psychopath on a rampage for power, of course he did it"
"Look Tony I've heard the stories from when I was young about how Loki tried to take over Asgard but really can you blame him. Odin had used him and lied to him all his life, then Thor was to be king but at the time, no offence Thor but you were kind of a jerk then..."
"None taken Dana tis true"
"So Thor wasn't really the best option but Odin was so bull headed he failed to see that. Loki in a way was pushed into doing what he did I believe, it still wasn't right but I emphasize with him. I've never meet him but from what you told me about him, how he held me when I was little.... All I'm saying is to not let us jump to conclusions till we have the full story, something isn't quite right and I just need you to trust me on this."
"I Dana, to be so young yet so wise is a gift, I will stand by your judgment and hope that you are right."
I smiled at Thor and watched as the rest of my family pondered over my words. With all this alien tech and shape shifting aliens I've heard of, how can we be sure what actually went on. I looked over at Fury and he was staring at me with his one good eye. He seemed unmoved by my words and was contemplating what to say next.
"Your statement will be taken into consideration but Loki should still be taken in for questioning and he did still steal the tesseract and half my men...."
"But he dint kill them right?"
"Ahhhh, yes Dana he didn't kill them but he's still needs to be brought here. Thor, Iron man, Cap, I'm sending you guys to where we believe Loki's location is. Capture him and bring him back here. Now go the meetings over and I have important business to attend to."
As everyone stood up and began to leave I couldn't help but get the last word in before heading out.
"You know Fury, he's innocent until proven guilty" I said with a sly smile
"GET OUT OF HERE DANA"
Quickly I scurried out of the room laughing softly to myself as a caught up Tony.
"Way to go kido"
Tony said to me with a wink as we began to walk away. Smiling I nodded to his comment
"He's just angry because he knows I'm right"
Tony laughed and ruffled my hair before walked away to where he, Thor, and Cap were joining to set off for their mission. Natasha and Clint headed off to do some shield business and I joined my father in his lab, helping with his experiments and getting ready for when Loki gets here. As I worked I had this tight feeling in my gut something I liked to call my animal instinct and it told me things were about to get a whole lot more exciting around here.
