"Dana, Hey Dana wake up, Dana....."

A soft familiar voice called out too me from the darkness, slowly I began to rise to the light as my eyes began to flicker open. My head pounded like crazy as I began to sit up pressing my hand to my head in a weak attempt to stop the pounding and the spinning of the room. A long groan escaped my lips in protest of the constant throbbing in my head.

"Easy Dana, take it slow you lost a lot of magic power, here drink this it will help make you feel better."

A hot mug was pressed into my hand as I felt someone's strong arm wrap around my shoulder to steady me as they soothingly rubbed their hands down the side of my arm. Feeling more at ease I sipped at the contents of the mug, it was hot herbal tea that made me feel instantly better and the aching in my head began to subside. Looking around I noticed that I was back in my room in Stark tower. The room was dimly lit as the setting suns orange rays streamed through the open window and a gentle breeze blew through carrying the scent of trees and fresh cut grass but with a hint of smoke, gas, and something metallic. Picking up on that scent the events of what happened came flooding back into my mind as I remembered everything that happened with Loki. "That smell has to be from the helicarrier, what the heck happened?" I thought to myself. Looking down I found myself dressed in a fresh pare of pajamas, they were my light purple tank- top shirt with matching shorts with little clouds on them, as I looked to my right I found Peter sitting on the bead next to me as he attempted to ease my pain. I was glad for his company but I blushed madly to have him be sitting in my bead next to me when I was dressed in pajamas.

"Feeling any better Dana, that tea is supposed to help rejuvenate your power, we had Dr. Strange come by to check on you once we brought you back and he made this tea for you for when you woke up."

"Yea I'm feeling better thanks... so what happened is Coulson ok, where is everyone, where is Loki, what's going on, what...."

"Hey there easy everything's fine, Coulson is alive and well thanks to you but Loki escaped after sabotaging the Ship. The helicarrier went down after one of the engines blew but the Avengers were able to safely land it. It took some time to get your father to calm back down too and sadly Loki disappeared in the process, there all out now looking for him. Dr. Strange, Pepper, Betty, and myself stayed here to look out for you since it's our belief that you're the reason Loki let us capture him to begin with.... That and he just wanted to bring down the helicarrier."

With a long sigh I leaned back into Peter as the stress of the day began wash over me. "What is Loki's plan and why go through all this trouble, what does he have to gain from all this?"

"SOOOO Dana" Peter said as he began to blush from having my body pressed into his arms, "What did Loki say to you."

Dana relayed the events that happened between her and Loki leaving nothing out. By the time she had finished her mug was empty and her eyes began to close as sleep overcame her.

"And that's when I woke up here" Dana mumbled as she began to drift.

"Wow that intense.... ill make sure that I let the rest of them know, now you just get some sleep and rest up I have a feeling you're going to need all your energy."

Peter smiled softly as Dana began to drift off. As he squeezed out from under her to let her sleep his wrist was quickly grabbed before he could leave.

"Peter do you think you could just stay here for a bit until I fall asleep" I said softly as I looked up at him, he smiled and slid back onto the bed beside me, cradling me in his arms as I drifted off. After everything that happened, I just felt more at ease with him around.

As Dana and Peter drifted off a black cat with raven wings and bright green eyes perched itself on the window sill as it watched them glaring at Peter with its piercing gaze. With smooth and graceful movements the cat jumped down off the window sill into the room, its sleek fur shimmering in the now rising moon as it sashayed into the center of the room. With light movements the cat leapt onto the foot of the bed without disturbing the sleepers. Sitting there tail swishing in the moonlight, he watched the sleeping girl.

Loki's POV

I watched as Dana slept next to the boy known as Spider-man. I felt enraged though I don't know why or even how I came to care so much. She is free to be with whom she pleases so why should it matter at all to me? As I sat there struggling with my emotions I came to a conclusion in that I believed she could do better, I feel responsible for her since I have taken it upon myself to guard and guide her. I should be the one who comforts her but instead I'm the one who put her in pain and is now in hiding from the Avengers. As I watched her slender form and the rise and fall of her chest as she slept, I couldn't help but look back on the time I first meet her when she was just an infant. The moment I laid eyes on her it was like she imprinted on me, from there on in I felt as if my sole purpose the reason I even existed was for her and her alone. Although ironically my lack in luck and my own desires seem to get in the way of my ever existing pull to protect her.

"What is it that makes you so special Dana?" Loki thought to himself. He watched the young girl as she started to toss in her sleep mumbling something as she dreamed. Getting up Loki moved in closer to hear what she was saying. Leaning in close near her mouth his cat ears picked up one word.

             "Loki..."

I jumped back a little, surprised that she had spoken my name, did she know I was here, is she waking up? On further inspection I came to realize she was only dreaming but this lead to another matter on why she was dreaming of me? Frankly I was quite pleased it was my name she called out to in the night and not that Peter guy. Smiling to myself I heard the rest of the Avenger family come home after searching for me. although the sound of their footsteps and voices down stairs signals that I must now leave I was unable to retain a wide grin at the fact that this whole time they have been out looking for me when in fact I've never left them, I've been with their youngest member of the family the entire time right inside their home. It reminded me of that mortal saying "if it was any closer it would have bit you" which was quite true on my part. Jumping of the bed I flew to the window where I gave one last glance goodbye at Dana. It was in that moment that Dana's sleeping eyes opened and stared at me. She was quiet but the look in her eyes were stunned at seeing a cat in her window when her room was so high off the ground. I watched her back knowing full well that I shouldn't let her see me or even know I was there but at that moment I just couldn't turn my back on her. We stayed like that for a while and I watched as the stunned look in her eyes slowly faded and softened and she just lightly smiled at me making my heart skip a beat.

"I'd know those eyes anywhere.... Loki..." Dana said as she laid there with moonlight shining across her face.

I was stunned that she recognized me yet did not shriek or freak out that I was there like any normal girl would do, although I was quickly coming to understand that Dana is not a normal girl. Turning swiftly I spread my wings and leapt from her window taking off into the night sky as the sound of her soft chuckle slowly faded in the distance.
