Part 13- The party

No matter how many of Tony's parties I had endured since arriving with the team I still couldn't get over how different they were to any party I had ever been to before. Parties on Alsoi were vastly different from Midgardian parties.

The events as big as Tony's were when all the clans came together. When the Nyx hosts we grew thousands of flowers to line the walls and pathways, magic is used to create balls of soft light glowing above us. A beautiful meal would be prepared and after the feast musicians from different clans would come together with their instruments to play lively music.

Tony's parties have always struck me as harsher; flashy lights, finger food, and open bars. People didn't talk much outside of their groups, and a lot of people are only there to show off. That's not to say that we don't all have a lot of fun, I just find them overwhelming. Bucky, Steve and I usually have to do them sober as well. Thor will occasionally bring Asgardian alcohol, which does the trick for Bucky and Steve, and according to Bruce works better with my 'alien metabolism'.

Before arriving on Midgard I had never worn make up, and I don't tend to wear any outside of these events. I think it looks amazing, and I can see how fun it is to be creative. But I already feel that I am wearing a mask, and so covering that mask feels very strange, I'm not a massive fan of looking even less like myself. But I always get involved when it's a party, Wanda is always so excited to 'glam' me up.

It doesn't actually take us five hours to get ready, but we usually make a tasty cocktail beforehand, we listen to music, and dance around in our dressing gowns. Tony had themed this party as 'Summer nights' he always enjoyed putting a spin on his dress codes.

In-between dancing Nat and Wanda set themselves to doing my makeup. I braided Wanda's hair into an elaborate style, the way I always did my hair for important ceremonies back home. I grew a ring of flowers and placed it over the beautiful braids.

By 7pm we were more than ready, but we decided to take some photos and have a snack so we would arrive 'fashionably late'.

Wanda was wearing a floor length red dress, with patterns sewn into it, it accentuated her waist perfectly. The bell sleeves were long and floated over her delicate hands with black painted nails, the headdress I made for her completed the look perfectly.

Nat wore a tight black dresses that had a sheer layer on top that flowed off of her body gracefully. Wanda enchanted the sheer layer to look like a summer night sky, there were stars twinkling through it and a summer moon hanging in the sky.

I had a long look in the mirror and smiled, it was funny, I almost looked more like myself. My dress felt magical. It was a floor length A-line dress that gracefully transitioned from a deep forest green at the bodice, to a soft light green at the hem. Delicate layers of tulle added volume and intricate beadwork and embroidery adorn the dress, starting densely at the top and gradually scattering as it moved down, mimicking the growth of vines and leaves. The beading was enchanted by Wanda to shimmer subtly, catching the light and enhancing the gradient effect. The embroidery is detailed, with fine threads in various shades of green. The vines twist and turn elegantly, with tiny leaves and occasional delicate flowers interspersed among them.

My hair was in loose, cascading waves with small, delicate braids interwoven throughout, the braids were decorated with tiny, glistening beads echoing the beading on the dress. On my face was soft rosy make up, my eyes had a smoky gold look that made my eyes sparkle. I looked perfect, all three of us did.

It came round to 9pm and we climbed into the lift and heading towards the party. As the lift door slid open and we entered, a huge smile came to my face, the hall that is used for our rigorous training sessions had been entirely transformed into a vibrant and magical space.
