Chapter 5 // Strange..

TOGAMI'S POV: 

He's to stupid to figure out why I dont make friends. It's quite obvious, but if he doesn't get it now, he never will. I thought.

I looked over to Naegi, quickly looking away when he looked back.

For about 2 hours we read in silence, he really did seem to enjoy the book I gave him.

"Togami, I have a dumb question." I looked over to him. "Ask away." I put my book down. "Why dont you show emotion?" Naegi looked up at me in curiosity. "Dumb indeed. Well, since I belong to the Togami Corporation, which is a company based off of business, we mustn't show emotions." I started.

"Oh. That doesn't make sense. . ?" Naegi looked down in confusion. "Tch." I check my watch. "I have to go now." I didn't, I just didn't want to be here.

I got up, grabbing my book, and sliding my phone in my pocket. "Goodbye" I said, "bye-bye!" Naegi smiled and waved. Right before I left the room, I got a call.

Father? I answered the call, stepping just outside the library. I leaned against the wall and spoke clearly.

"Yes, father?" I stared at the floor.

"Why didn't you come home for dinner last night? We agreed that you would to discuss family matters." Father spoke, almost Angrily.

"The answer is quite simple. Your face makes me throw up the food I haven't eaten." I scoffed.

I heard shuffling on the phone, then the call ended. I looked beside me. "Naegi?" I stood up straight, looking down at him. "Family issues?" He asked.

I became less tense, just looking away and nodding silently.

"Well, wanna go get lunch?" Naegi asked. There were practically sparkles in his eyes.

"Sure, why not?" I sighed, putting my phone in my pocket again. "Hold my book" I said, shoving it in his hands. He seemed surprised at first, Then agreed.

We walked down to the cafeteria, I watched him get food as a sat quietly at a 4-seated table. When Naegi walked over he gave me a confused face. "Why aren't you going to eat?" He asked "I didn't feel like eating, plus I can't risk getting fat for multiple reasons." Naegi was slightly confused but let it slide as he sat down with his tray of food.

Naegis POV:

After Togami said he didn't want to eat I sat down and begun eating. A million things were crossing my mind. Why was he talking to his father like that? Why didn't they have a good relationship? I zoned out, completely forgetting to eat. I heard a bell ring, immediately snapping out of it. "Huh?" I look up, Togami was looking at me like I did something wrong.

I looked down to my half eaten food and sighed. "See you after 7th period then?" I asked, cleaning up my food.

"I hope not." Togami took his eyes off me and got up.
