Chapter 5

"I found some information about Y/N." Hanma Shuji, the man with a black hair and blonde highlights announced proudly as he entered Sanzu's office.

It is a gloomy morning when Hanma decided to show up and inform Sanzu about the details he was asking for.

"What is it?" Sanzu asked, eager to know more details about you.

After taking care of you when you were sick, Sanzu became much more interested in you. He religiously visits the cafe you are working. There are times that he drops you off at your apartment, in hopes to get more information about you and of course, to be close to you. He would be lying if he will say that he does not want to know you better.

"So it turns out that Y/N is an illegitimate child of the Clover's leader. That explains why she is not using his surname, Sohma. Apparently, she is not a worthy bait after all."

Sanzu is listening carefully to the new information that Hanma is giving.

"Also, the lady in the picture you sent is her mom. She was killed by Guren Sohma. Such a funny thing, Y/N loathes her own father whom she does not know." Hanma smirked while puffing out a small smoke from his cigarette.

The information shocked Sanzu. He find it amusing yet desolating at the same time. He started to wonder, what would you feel when you learned that the one who killed your mother is your own father.

"Tch, what a tragic story." The pink haired man said.

"I know, but I thought of something. But I'll save it for later." With that, Hanma left Sanzu's office.

Sanzu was occupied with Hanma's statement. He could not stop thinking about the idea he has came up with.

Knowing Hanma, a ruthless guy who does everything in order to execute his plans, Sanzu cannot stop thinking about your safety.

"Thank you for dropping me off, Haru." You smiled at him.

" Don't mention it." Sanzu replied.

Sanzu has been dropping you home for most times and if he can't do it, he will send someone from Bonten to do it for him. He just makes sure that you will get home safe and sound.

Before you got out of his car, Sanzu held your wrist.

"Uh, what is it Haru?" You asked, quiet curious as to why he held you back.

"I just want to ask something."

You turned to face him, intently listening to his question.

"When you are sick, I saw a picture in you room. Do you mind if I ask about it?" He honestly said while staring at your e/c orbs.

"Oh, that was my mom." You smiled at him. But that smile is different from your usual ones.

"You don't have to, if you don't want to talk about it." Sanzu said, noticing the sad smile you made.

"No, it's fine." Reassuring him.

"My mom was killed by Guren Sohma. I didn't know the details why she was killed, whether it was intentional or not. I hate him. He took away the only parent I have." Your eyes that has been filled with hatred is now crying, remembering how you saw your mom got shot in the head by the man.

"I shouldn't asked you about it." Sanzu hugged you and rubbed circles on your back to comfort you.

"It's fine, Haru. It's just that, if I'll be given a chance, I want to throw that monster in jail but he is a gang leader so I think that is not possible. And I am still wondering, why he didn't killed me that day. He saw me yet he just shot my mom." You told him. Tears are still flowing on your eyes.

"You witnessed him killing your mom?" Sanzu tried to wipe your tears.

"Yeah."

Silence engulfed the car. Sanzu is still processing the new information he got from you. How tragic it is that your own father have killed your mom and you witnessed all of it.

"I should get going. Thank you for dropping me off." You broke the silence between the both of you.

"Yeah, see you tomorrow. Have a good night." Sanzu replied while you get out of his car.

Sanzu slowly drove away from your apartment complex heading towards the bar. He needs to inform Mikey with the new information he got.

Sanzu entered the familiar bar where the Bonten members would always meet up every night.

"Hey Sanzu, want to have some fun?" A girl in a little black dress called him.

"No time for sluts like you." Sanzu spat back.

"Oh, that's a new one." Koko teased him.

"I need to tell Mikey something important, where is he?" Sanzu asked the black haired male.

"He's in the room. Eating some taiyaki."

"Mikey, I learned something from Y/N."

The rose colored hair man announced whilst entering the room.

"You're doing a great job befriending her huh." Mikey said while munching on his snack.

"I just hope you'll do your job." Mikey continued.

Sanzu felt guilty for the first time ever. He genuinely likes to know you better and to be close with you.

He told Mikey the information he learned. On how you witnessed the murder of your own mother.

"Such a twisted fate she has. Dig more information about her, I need to know more about her, she's still Guren's daughter." Mikey said.

"Yes Mikey."

That is all that Sanzu can say. He could not defy the king's order.

But something in his heart, he wants to disobey Mikey's order for the first time. He does not want to involve you in the chaotic gang life. He's hell-bent to keep you safe and sound. He just wants you to live a normal life.

"I'm sorry Y/N, I hope you'll understand." Sanzu softly whispered.
