<JEREMY'S P.O.V>
I've just been sitting here on this ratty old bed, crying.
It was miserable here.
There was a foul stench in the air, it was very unclean here, children are always crying...
Well I could imagine why.
I just know I'm going to be here awhile.
Besides, who would want to adopt a shit?
<MIKE'S P.O.V>
When I finally reached the orphanage, I stumbled out of the car and ran to the entrance.
I looked around.
Crying children everywhere.
It smelled like shit, and it certainly looked like shit.
I walked over to one of the children.
"Hey, do you know where the owner is?" I asked. The children looked up at me.
"O-Oh, you mean the headmistress? S-She's in her office." the child replied.
"Can you show me where the office is?"
She just twiddled her thumbs.
"S-Sure." she said, standing up.
As we were walking through the rather large house, I decided to break the awkward sounds of the children crying.
"So, if I may ask, why're you here?"
She just stared down at the floor.
"M-My parents did drugs, were alcoholics...
And they beat me and my little sister. All the time." she said, keeping her head down.
"But my sister is dead, now."
She reminded me of Jeremy.
"Oh."
Once we reached the office, I reached into my pocket and pulled out the money.
Just enough.
I said goodbye to the girl before entering the room. But she stopped me.
"M-My name's Lucy, by the way." she said.
I smiled.
"Well my name's Mike. Now wait here, okay?" I told her. Lucy nodded and I walked into the office.
Inside sat an old lady who looked like a complete bitch.
"Whaddya want?" she asked.
"Um, I'd like to adopt." I replied.
"Alright, alight. Which child?"
"Actually, children."
She stared at me.
"Two children?"
I nodded.
"Alright, whatever." she said, reaching over to a pile of files.
She handed them to me.
"Choose which children you want to adopt and let me make sure you're fit to be a parent."
I looked through the files.
"I want Jeremy Fitzgerald and Lucy Goodman." I said.
The bitch nodded her head and I gave her my personal information so she could see if I was fit to adopt.
And I was.
"You're good. I'll get the shits-I mean children." she said, exiting the room.
Well, that costed me like over a thousand bucks.
I looked around the nasty office, until the door opened.
There stood Jeremy and Lucy.
"MIKE!" they both screamed, hugging me. I smiled.
"Hey, guys. Let's go home." I said.
They were already packed, their bags in hand.
As they walked to the car, Lucy looked up at me.
"M-Mike, sir..." she started.
"Is it okay if I call you Dad?"
I suddenly stopped walking.
"Of course."
"Can I call you my daughter?"
"Well, I am your daughter."
I just chuckled, and we all continued walking.
