Set: what could have been, Season 6b
Age: 18 years old(TW: kinda graphic, bloody)
Marley's hand clutched Isaac's as they paced down the school halls. She squeezed his hand tightly, scared for him and her brother. Everyone in Beacon hills had turned against them, some actively trying to hurt them. Monroe and Gerard had hunters placed everywhere in broad daylight, most at the school. Isaac and Marley skidding to a stop when they saw the Lacrosse team guarding off the exists. They turned to look down the hall and saw the rest of the team stood by the other exit.
"Shit, they're blocking it off," Marley cursed.
"It's okay, we can get out," Isaac said.
"But Liam can't. You're twice his size, they're scared of you, but not Liam," Marley said. She looked around hopelessly. "I need to go find him."
"Okay, I'm gonna find Lydia, she should be in her mums office. Be careful," Isaac said quickly, Marley already jogging down the hall. She turned back to him and smiled sadly, knowing that he read her expressions as 'I love you' and 'it'll be okay'. Isaac watched her turn round the corner before running the opposite direction to Lydia.
...
"Just turn!" Someone shouted from a classroom. Marley stopped running after she heard everyone gasp. She looked to her side and saw people gathering in a classroom. The worst thoughts imaginable swarmed her mind. She ran. She ran for Liam.
"Hey," Marley called out, she pushed through everyone and saw two boys towering over Liam. "Hey! What the hell is going on?!"
Everything went silent for a second, the only sound was Liam's heavy breaths. Blood foamed in his mouth and ran bellow his nose. The taller, dark haired boy moved forward and grabbed Marley by her arms. Before she could retaliate, he had pushed her against the walls and restricting her arms. She glared at him and struggled against his grasp.
"She's his sister, so she's one of them too," the boy growled. "Change, you monster."
The other lighter haired boy hesitated to hit Marley, so the first boy did it for him. He moved back and swung his fist, connecting it with Marley's jaw. She fell and hit the ground, already dizzy from the blow. Liam looked up through his struggle and reached for his sister.
"Marley," he mustered. The light haired boy kicked Liam in the side, moving him away from his sister. Marley crawled as quick as she could, holding her jaw in her hand. The first boy grabbed her hair and pulled her back. She whimpered and clawed at his hand. Her nails scraped, let me go. For a moment, everything went slow. She could single out the pain she felt. There was the pain from the punch in her jaw, but also in her lip. She would taste blood in a matter of seconds sliding down her throat. Her head stung from the harsh pull. Liam lay on the floor, in worse conditions than herself. Marley hated it. They hated her. All because they thought she was supernatural. But she made no effort to tell them that she wasn't, maybe because she thought she deserved it.
Time continued. A fist drive into Marley's jaw, and before she could react, a knee flew into her stomach, knocking the wind out of her. She fell onto her arms and coughed. Blood trickled from her lip in a mixture of saliva. Her eyes held together tightly, praying the pain could end somehow.
"Do something," Marley heard Mason say, a high whistle in her ear. She used her strength to look up. A teacher stood in the mix of students looking down at her and Liam. All faith left Marley's hopes as the teacher shook her head.
"Sometimes it's better if you let these things play out," she said, moving back and out of the crowd. Liam growled to himself, holding his shift in. Marley would have used all the strength she had left to get to her brother, but she was stopped. She was lifted up by the back of her shirt, the same boy still holding her head. He moved her to the table, stood her in front of it, and smacked her face down onto the surface. Marley felt a crunch in her nose, and she screamed and cried. Liam was almost over the edge, getting beaten and listing to his sisters pain. Marley slid down the desk, almost choking on her own blood and guts. Her back hit the side of the desk, her legs slumped on the floor. She'd given up. The boy swung and hit her around the face again. Marley wobbled and let the string of blood drip from her mouth.
