He's a good fighter, knows how to shoot well (he's from Texas, what do you expect?), he's very charming, manipulative and a great liar.Weaknesses
Elliot is overconfident, arrogant and hot tempered. His past is something he needs to keep hidden. The whole 'redeemed criminal' act is fine when your crimes are limited to assault and burglary, once it's found out you killed for money it doesn't fly as well. His daughter is a weakness for him, he loves her more than anything.Likes
Cars, reading, spending time with his daughter, dogs, attention.Dislikes
Silence, sitting with his back to doors, heights, drinking.History
Elliot was a good ol' boy, born in Texas and raised by his loving mother and abusive, drunken father. He took solace in religion from a young age, finding the idea that his father and the kids who bullied him would one day be punished for it to be very attractive. Slowly, as he grew older, he lost faith. It was difficult, it broke his mother's heart, but they both learned to live with it.
In college, when he was 19, he met a girl named Madeline. She was beautiful and sweet and perfect, an glowing light in his otherwise dark and bloody life. See, by that time he was already a thief with a few burglaries under his belt. Nothing too terrible, a mugging here and there, that sort of thing. It made him feel powerful to be in someone else's home, to have their lives in his hands. Then one day he went too far.
When he was 24, he committed his first murder. It was a man, he hadn't known he was home so when he came out screaming, Elliot shot him. It went unsolved. Once the initial panic wore off, the sick glee crept it. It was exhilarating, fun. After that it was only a matter of time before things spiraled. Next was his father, who Elliot had decided deserved it. He was drowned in the creek outside their house. Then somehow, someone found out about him. In exchange for not being turned in, he agreed to work for them.
Elliot married Madeline when they were 27, paying for everything with the money he made from the killings and his day job as a bank worker. For her sake, he began to go to church again although he never regained his faith. He found himself fascinated by the preachers, the way their voices boomed with passion and the way the crowds grew enchanted by him.
It was power. They held power over their followers, a power he wanted. Suddenly, he was preaching too.
Charlotte was born a few years later, a beautiful little girl who always laughed. The joy didn't last long, a few years later Elliot was hired to kill a man. He had been about to do it when he saw the man's son run up to him. After that he simply couldn't do it.
One of the few decent things he had ever done was rewarded with the death of his wife. His daughter would be next if he didn't continue, so he did. His congregation grew until he was preaching to some of the largest crowds in the country. During the day they feed his ego, at night his killing fills his wallet. Then again, he uses the church for that too.Family
